cypress
Yes back to the topic. Romman Bananna Aroma: Opening the package it smelled like a candied bananna or a canned banana. It was real close to what a bananna could smell like but not like a fresh bananna. It was a pleasing aroma that made me want to smoke this even more. Cut/Wettness: The ma'asell was very wet and runny. I would not say it it as wet as Fakher but it could have been because it was a 50 gr sampler pack. The cut was a thin cut in the tabacco leaves with a few stems. The color is a light brown which is different in comparison to some of the other reds like Nakhla, Fakher, and Al Waha. Taste/Smoking Session: I started off with one coal and did not get the flavor blast like I wanted so I put another. Then the flavor took off. The taste was sweet and pleasling bananna flavor. I think the flavor is similar to the bananna syrup that they use on snow cones but not as sweet. The smoke was thick and lasted for a little over an hour. Rating: My thoughts on this was a great smoke. The flavor was there. The thickness was there and the aroma was there. The only thing I would say bad was that when I added the second coal it did get a little warm. I tried taking that extra coal off and the flavor was not as strong. I think the solution is to have 1.5 and it would have been an excelent smoke. My rating is going to be a 9 on this. I would recomend this but for the price I might want to try Fakher Banana as its almost half the cost. But it definately was good.
Mathazar
Nice review, but I would have to disagree with you on the score, as I would give it something more like a 7. The flavor was just too candy-like for my palate. And if you smoke enough of it, you'll know what I mean. It gets boring REAL fast.
cypress
You might be right. I guess i was in the mood today for something sweet because I have been smoking double apple the past couple of days and it hit the spot for now.
cypress
Okay its review time again. Sorry I have not done anything lately but I have been recovering from a cold and now I m well enough to start reviewing some things again. Fumari White Peach: Aroma: The aroma of this is quite strange. Its not something I have smelled before. It definately did not smell sweet or anything like Romman Peach. The smell is similar to a very young peach that is hard and not quite ripe. Cut/Wettness: The cut was a nice clean cut with few stems. It looked similar to Romman in color and cut but the wettness was not all there. Sorry I did not take a picture of this to show but I will post one when I smoke the watermelon as it is similar. Taste/Smoking Session: When I started off I used 1 coal thinking that 2 would be too much because of the lack of wettness. Boy was I wrong. 1 coal did not make very much smoke. I ended up using 2. Wow. This was a verry good smoke. The smell of the ma'assell matched the taste of the smoke. It was nice. It tasted tart like a young peach with a slight hint of sweetness. This didn't taste as harsh as Mathazar claimed. It was pleasingly smooth. The buzz factor was at a minimal. Rating: This was interesting smoke. This definately had a unique flavor that could not be compared by another brand. I got a good hour from the smoking session. My rating would be an 9. I was on the borderline in giving this an 8.5 but i bumped this a half a point for the uniqueness in flavor. I don't think you are going to find another taste similar to this. This is definately a great buy. I recommend that if you are going to order some of this that you might want to order 50 bucks worth of White Peach and Watermelon to save on shipping. I know the Watermelon was great because I could even taste it when I had my cold and I will be trying it again to write a review.
ZooJohnnyZETA
Hmm.. Nice review Cypress! I have yet to try anything from Fumari, but Im really dying to try the Watermelon. After being completely disappointed with Al-Amir's Im still looking for a real delecious tasting Watermelon to try. Im pretty sure I'll find that in Fumari, but unfortunately I'm going to have to wait a while until I have the money to order. But such is life eh? The White Peach does sound worth trying while I'm at it. There are a couple other Fumari flavors I'm really itching to try so I think I'll order these if I can swing it... Watermelon (2 jars), White Peach, Chocolate, Blueberry, Sour Apple, and Honey. Have any experiance with the last 4 by chance?
cypress
Okay, I tried something different today that I dont think that anyone has done yet. I mixed a 50% ratio of Fumari Watermelon and Fumari White Peach. The taste of this was unbelievably good. Wow. The peach offset the potent watermelon while the watermelon offered a few sweet spots in the smoke as opposed to the tartness of the peach. I rated both watermelon and peach at 9 and damn this was even better. I rate this a 9.75. I clearly tasted the best of both worlds. The smoke was still a nice thick, milky white texture that I have gotten before from Fumari. This is definately a must for people who are looking for a strong flavored smoke. And talk about the buzz I had today. I think it was because I was taking hit after hit after hit. That relaxation definately hit the spot.
cypress
Time for a new review. Wyteboy so generously sent all of the ma'assel that he had ordered to me in grattitue for the samples I sent him. Nakhla Strawberry: I chose this one first because of all the huff and puff of which brand is better. Nakhla vs Al Fakher. A few of the members who started smoking the hookah for the first time smoked this brand and flavor and fell in love with this. Aroma: The aroma of this had no resemblence to strawberries. If I was blind folded and asked what flavor it was I would have had to think verry hard. I think what the scent came close to is strawberry potpourri that has been sitting our for about 3 months. It has maybe a slight floral, slight strawberry scent but it was verry faint. Cut/Wetness: The cut was pretty much the standard Nakhla cut. It had quite a few visible stems and the color was the light brown. The wetness on the other had was quite drier than the double apple and apple I have from them. It had the consistancy of left out pancake syryp. The kind that you have left over if you would eat pancakes and leave the plate out and not wash it for several days. (I was in college once too and lived those messy days. I am reformed and wash dishes after each meal). Taste/Smoking Session: I was surprised I needed as much heat as I did to produce a thick smoke considering how dry it was. I used 2 good size nour chunks that went across the full length of the bowl. I must say that the flavor was verry faint. I thought of myself actually smoking for the buzz as opposed to for the flavor. Even if no one told me what flavor this was i would not be able to guess it. Rating: I would have to say I was quite disapointed with the flavor of this smoke. It was not a bad tasting smoke where I would never try it again but this is not something I would buy again nor crave. I would smoke this in desprate need of relaxation and a buzz without much flavor. My overall rating for this would be a 4. What I might try to do is do some experimenting with this one with fresh strawberries, honey or molasses. Since this is not something I am going to worry about wasting I might give it a shot maybe next week and post some results.
wyteboy
Sorry you didn't enjoy it much, but that was my exact experience with the smoke. With all of ZJZ raving, I thought maybe I was doing something wrong! But I wasn't...Nice review and great descriptions! I wonder if it was just an old batch I got? But I don't really think so, personally.... Keep on reviewin I am curious when you smoke the alwaha if you like it better... The girlfriend leaves later this afternoon which means later tonight it's HOOKAH time! My nose is pretty stuffed, not from hookah scratchiness, but from allergies, lol. cypress
Well, its time for me to review a sample that Mushrat sent to me. He sent me a couple to try and one of them was Sarah 2 apple Sara 2 Apple Aroma: The aroma had a destinct 2 apple scent. I could definately pick out the licorice scent with a hint of mint. This aroma actually smelled wonderful as I have been away the weekend from smoking due to family events. After opening the bag my craving for two apple went from a 7 to a 10. Cut/Wetness: The cut was far superior to any I have had. This had absolutely no stems. None. Nada. Romman and AF have a few but no where near Al Waha and Nakhala. The wetness was superior as well. It was not a thin watery type wetness it was a thick, heavy molasses type wetness. In both areas I thought in both areas it was superior to AF and Romman. The color was a nice deep maroonish color. Taste/Smoking Session: The aroma matched the taste of this smoke. It was wonderfull. I used 2 good sized lemonwood and the session lasted well over an hour. This two apple had a strong licorice/minty flavor with floral undertones. The flavor lingered on my tongue even after I exhaled. I would say up untill now this would be the best 2 apple I have tasted. I have smoked Romman, Nakhla, and Al Waha. I warn people if you are not into the licorice then this is not for you but man this was the kind of smoke that hits you in your face. The smoke thickness was excelent. It is comparable to Romman and AF. Rating: I would say that this would be a good buy for 9 bucks a 200 according to Mushrat. Its a very flavorfull smoke. Let me reiderate. You will not like this if you do not like licorice. But for me it was a great smoke. My rating would be between a 9-9.5. I am going to have to try AF 2 apple and if its not as flavorful, it would definately be a 9.5. This is a good smoke I will recomend for others who like 2 apple. cypress
Well out of all the Nakhla and Al Waha stuff that wyteboy sent me none of them were flavorful. The ones I tried were Strawberry, Vanilla from Nakhla and Apricot Al Waha. They were not flavorful like other brands I have had. Even the scents where no resemblance to the flavors. Strawberry and Vanilla I rate 4's. They were not bad but they did not have the puch of flavor I like. Apricot had a stonger flavor but it still does not compare others I have tasted. I think that some of the problems were that these came from a box as opposed to the jar or tub. I have next to try the Al Waha 5 start. I can compare this to the jar as I have some. cypress
Well this is the first of quite of a few samples that King Mo generously sent from London. Al Amir Bananna. Aroma: Well I had to smell all of them first. I wanted to try the lemon as King Mo rated it a 10 but my wife wanted to try the bananna. The aroma wanst bad. It smelled like your bananna snow cone syrup. It wasnt a blast but that could have been because it was a sample instead of coming from a fresh tub. None the less I still tried it. Cut/Wettness: Amir Bananna was a good cut. It was in between the coarseness of Fakher and Hookah Hookah. Very few stems. The wetness was good. It was pretty much a standard one. Similar to Al Waha. Taste/Smoking Session: The flavor after I got it going was discent. It wasn't a strong hit you in the face bananna but it was just enough to tell it was bananna and good enough to enjoy it through out the smoke. I did have to use quite a bit of heat for this one to smoke good and didnt have any problems with it burning. Overall Rating: This was a pretty descent smoke. I would say this is one that is safe all around. The smoke was there and not too thick, the flavor was ther and not too strong. I will rate this a 7.5. My personal preference is an extra thick smoke with a strong flavor. This is slightly above your standard bananna but not a premium like Romman. King Mo
first time it's 'disent', second time it's 'descent' it's actually 'decent' maybe third time lucky lol. Just kidding anyway bro. I'm feeling a little pedantic today.
