DizzyGuy
getting some vynal hose would work fine... Um, will the stem actually fit in and make a tight seal with the base? And would that look kinda weird with the base like 5 times bigger than the stem? I'd say jsut get a whole hookah
hmpitags2006
Yeah it will fit the diameter of the vase, but I didn't really think about how it might look on top of the vase. Hmm I will have to think about that more. I just don't have a lot of money right now due to tuition, books, rent, and food/beer. So I was just trying to avoid having to buy a new stem. DizzyGuy
Yeah, I know how that is... but it'd be uber ghetto... hey, just save up for one of the hookahs It's a sickness though... I saved up for awhile and I have several now...
hmpitags2006
I just measured my stem on my pumpkin it is 7" tall and the cyclone vase is 7.5" so I don't think it would look that weird. What was 3" was the part that actually goes in the water in my earlier post. Some more opinions would be nice

DizzyGuy
Oh, the vases rock It's just the stem that I have in mind would look funny cause it'd be like a nipple on a vase
hmpitags2006
I don't think it will look that weird since they are about the same size, and I can always get a new stem later on.
Macho555
I agree, those vases are amazing...I've always loved them. Theres a particular one that I'm looking to buy, mostly because those wide bottoms look like they make it impossible to tip. I think Sheetz actually has one and endorses it. hookahmike
HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN EXTENSION Measure the diameter of the bottom pipe.Go to ACE or somewhere to get some K&S brass tubing to fit either inside or out.Get pipe cutter (has a disk that you tighten down, then rotate it around the tube to cut it)Measure and add 1" for sliding onto the end.OPTION!Cut a little longer, cut one of the ends in eigths so that you can 'close' the end by bending them in. Then drill 3 sets of holes around the bottom 1/2" to have a built in DIFFUSER I really need to get some pics of all my mods up here so you can all see WTF I am talking about Got a phunnel baffle for the top, allows me to use 3/2 3k 40mm coals to start, then 1 coal afterwards. hmpitags2006
Mike wouldn't I need to weld or solder that on? Or jb weld? It does sound like a good project for my dremmel
DizzyGuy
Or, like I said... get a plastic piece of tubing and slide on over the end! Hell, you could block the end of the tubing and put alot of holes in the hose and BAM, instant diffuser. and that way you can easily slip it on and off depending on what vase you wanted to use. hmpitags2006
Yeah I think that is the route I am going to go. I have a lot of air diffusers for my Reef tanks I might give them a try in my hookah and see how they work.

camelflage
right now im thinking small inflatable donut, big enough for the vase, with a sealed-up sandbag attached to the bottom should do the trick. nothing over maybe 20 inches for stability. art_official
or you could do the orange winged floaties... sand in the bottom like you said but wrap it around the base and up a few inches... a few inches would be in the water but it would support it. this is a cool idea thanks! Allia22
A snap-on wind cover will be necessary for that idea, I think...
