DL15
so i recently just had some starbuzz shipped to me from SS which just arrived today. The frickin' taxes were wild! i had to pay 70 dollars Canadian for 500 grams of the starbuzz, which in total i spent about 150 for it. Thats how bad i wanted the starbuzz haha. But anyways, since this order was so frickin expensive i didn't want to risk screwing around with the tobacco. So yeah my question is about acclimation. I have done it eversince i read about on this forum but i am still kind of confused and yes i did search through the pages. If i open the sealed bags and let it just sit in my basement, would it not dry up the tobacco? if if it is possible to do that, how long should i acclimate it for? i read on some topics that people do not acclimate it and just take it out for a couple of minutes while they prepare everything else. Another question is just about the starbuzz tobacco. I have read that for starbuzz you do not need to use as much tobacco as other brands so how much do i have to put into the bowl for the smoke to be good? i mean do i still have to fill it to the brime of the bowl or can i just fill it in a much smaller portion? the bowl i am using is a ss egyptian regular bowl that comes with their hookahs. Anways, answers would be greatly appreciated!
AinSophAur
no your tobacco wont dry up. glycerin doesnt evaporate like other liquids. A lot will pool to the bottom though so a good stiring will help. What I do is open the bag, lay a big piece of saran wrap down on a table and spread the tobacco evenly. I usually take out the stems while doing this. Let the tobacco sit for a few hours the stir it up and let it sit again for a few more hours. Some people acclimate for 24 hours but I usually don't do it for more then 6 to 12. Then I seal it back up into the container.

web250
I rarely acclimate at all.Unless you're severly changing temperature and humidity, it shouldnt make a huge difference

art_official
sturbuz is normally pretty good about humidity exchangeif your really worried have it sit open while you set up your hookah, that should be ample (its what i do)
camelflage
i never smoke it right after i get it. i put it in my shisha cabinet where it sits at least a day in its packaging. that pretty much brings it temp wise to the same as my apartment. Molson
its not even a smoke store...its a convinience store that sells a lot of smokes, cigars, and the occasional hookah that looks more like a bong. they sell stricly 3 kings and only have like 5 flavours of al waha. i wanna just drive to new york and just smuggle it in but that would never work

Sonthert
You know, I have been rereflecting on this idea of tobacco drying up. Dan (AZ-Coyote) and his experiment with Hookah Hookah Tobacco made me realize most brands have ALOT of water in them 30-50% roughly. If that water evaporates, then the tobacco, will "dry up" and the results will be unfortunate. Tangiers won't do this because of its low water content, but tobacco drying up could be a serious problem.Rule of Thumb:Don't acclimate unless you mean to smoke it!
