A Few Questions About Social Smoke Egyptians

Well, I've been smoking from my QT for a while, and after comparing it to the Egyptian's I've used at the local lounge...I'm not horribly impressed. The smoke is a little hot and harsh for my taste, or at least it gets that way fast. I'm pretty sure it's not me--I freeze my stem before every smoke, use plenty of ice and COLD water, and it starts off kind of nice; though never as nice as the Egyptians I've had.

Anyway, my question is about Social Smoke Egyptians. What is the real difference (if any) between the Egyptians they sell, and the "Social Smoke Egyptians" (like the Luna)? As far as I can see, the SS hookahs come with a bag and are arguably a bit prettier. However, I am a noob still.
The biggest difference that I can tell is that while the 22" normal Egyptian is actually in stock, as opposed to almost all of the SS ones. So that may make the decision for me.

So what do you guys say? Order the small Egyptian? Wait for the SS ones to come back in? Buy an entirely different Egyptian? Quit whining and just keep my QT?

Also, if anyone has any suggestions as to how to keep a funnel bowl smoking for longer without the smoke getting nasty and harsh (or why it would do that about an hour in, even with proper heat management), I would appreciate that as well.

Well, it's other people's egyptians vs egyptians that they get special for them I think... not sure... I have a 36" egyptian... it was my first hookah, but I smoke the QT alot more. I actually don't get hot, harsh smoke with the QT... but I'm considering building a secondary cooling chamber for my QT to see what kind of effect that has... like a second jar... have vynal tubing going from the QT to the jar and coiled around the jar and the jar is filled with a salt/water/ice mix... and then have another hose coming off of that... might keep the smoke cooler.

But I digress, it's different strokes for different folks and Egyptians do make a good addition to any arsonal Maybe a smaller one than I have would have kept me a little happier

Let me clarify in case people think I'm saying that the QT isn't good. See, I'm sure that with the perfect amount of water and heat and the right pack on my bowl etc etc etc I would be able to get a good smoke from my QT. I've had a couple, in fact. But Egyptians just seem to be more consistent. I can be off by a micron in any area and still not die of CO poisoning. Or hork up a lung.

I hope. Maybe I just suck at hookah.

from my searching, it appears that the only thing different is the stems. the bases look identical... except for of course the bohemian. The only other difference that I see is the hose, but you get to decide what kind of hose upgrade you want with the regular egyptian ones.

Anyone else... is there something else that I'm/we're not noticing about the more expensive SS ones??

They always looked strikingly similar to me. Just the hose looks different, and what it comes with alters, obviously.

SS sells high quality stuff, I don't think you'll be dissapointed either way.
