I keep my Hookahs really clean. Even in the shop we will clean all of the Lounge Hookahs twice a week. The hoses get washed out three times a week. I would do more but its hard to fit it in more than those days. But I say if your a clean freak clean.. But if not please change your water LOL laugh.gif

I clean my hookah after every session. That way it doesn't have time to get hard and crusty.

Using this method, I don't have to use a brush just hot water and a little soak time for the stem (5-10 minutes)

Also, you should let everything air dry before re assembling your hookah.

yeah thats true luxor, they get crusty! then impossible to clean. Smiley have you ever left a vase by a mistake for a week without the water being changed? it looks like a recreation of a slimey irish swampland

EDIT: so do beer mugs. I remember once we had a few brews the night before I passed out, went to school the next day came back that weekend and it was green in the mugs! Edited by [LB]

I used to clean my hookah after every smoke, and I still should.. I smoke it about 5-9 times a week, but sometimes I don't have the time. But I make sure its cleaned AT LEAST once a week. And the hoses, I run water through them after every smoke.

i run hot water through everything afteri smoke, and sometimes i add a little soap to the base. ill brush out the stem once a week. after every smoke i'll blow out the hoses, and run water through them each time particles start showing up.

I want someone's opinion on this:
I clean my hookah fairly regularly, but i dont have a brush and i cant soak the stem because it's part wood. What do you guys recommend for cleaning it? I usually just run hot water thru it and whatnot, but i heard lemon juice is the way to go.
Thoughts?

lemon juice shouldn't harm the wood. if you're really nervous go get some guitar cleaner, it is also a lemon base but its made for removing grime from wooden materials.

I have several different hoses, i have a leather mya and a Leather Red Wood from hookah-shisha, I also have 2 cobra hoses and i was wonderin if running water through them is bad. Ive heard the metal coils can rust but i thought they were steel? these cobra's are also from hookah-shisha

White distilled vinegar would be better IMO due to lemon juice's extremely acidic nature. Acetic acid (vinegar, HCOO3) is less harsh on materials. Again this is just my opinion.
