Humidor For Shisha

Recommended Posts

hi there. i am finally getting my hookah which is in the mail (the SS sirius 28'') with some shisha (and i am extremly excited). now i hear a lot about moist shisha and the best way to store it. i have found out very quickly that no one can agree hahahaha one says the fridge another says the shelf. but i got thinking i love my cuban cigars (yay +1 for canada) and allways have to keep them in my humidor to keep them fresh and moist. so i started to question the idea of putting shisha in a humidor.
anyone try it? any input?

thanks

1. dont put shisha in your fridge, unless your planning on smoking in the fridge, its very dry in there and your sheesh will become upset and most likley cry.

2. on the other hand, i kept my specialty bags of sheesh (non labels, weird companys etc...) in a cigar box which had a very nice humidor, whenever i took sheesh out to smoke id let it sit for about a half an hour and never really noticed a significance.

I use Baby Food Jars, they are nice, clean, and the shisha doesnt smell my whole house up then. Also, they are easy to label with flavourse and brands, i just put a piece of masking tape on and use a sharpy marker to mark them. Edited by Apollo

A humidore pretty much negates the whole acclimation thing. Or atleast will make it take longer to acclimate, unless of course the humidity where you live is around 70%. Then you don't need the humidore anyway... wink.gif

nah baby food jars a perfect, i dont have the really little ones, but each jar holds about 75grams of shisha. so i have several jars filled with mint and orange cream and the other flavours is get 250 grams of every time. but it is convenient for when i travel i just grab like 3 jars put them in my hookah bag and im off. much less mess and looks classy to in my opinion

MOLSON! about the fridge and humidours. The humidour I don't know about, but think "Molson", how much tobacco % in a cigar and how much in shisha? shisha has either honey or molasses which can't go bad in the fridge, but how about all this mixture with the addition of glycerine 23,24,25%? Since you don't smoke as much anymore, why don't you stick part of your stash in the fridge for a while in the name of science and tell us how long it took to get rancid!

OKay. I too am an abbot cigar smoker. (wayy more than hookah) i have several humidors. im guessing you paid a little for your cubans. a humidor is a tightly sealed box. i would NOT put your shisha with your cigars. if in the same humidor. keep them separate. wayy far apart. even though shisha would be sealed, the flavor will leak, (osmoses) and get into the wrap of the cigars. i dont even put different wrapped cigars with each other. i.e macadoros separate from claros.

like others have stated, just keep it in the original package, or gladeware, ziplock, etc.

hehehe umm thanks. Please note i asked this question about a year and a half ago. I do not keep any shisha in my humidors (and i would not wanna destroy any of my cigars). Tupperwear all the way in my closet is how it goes.

Never put shisha in the fridge. Tiza you are wrong on that front.

1. Frigid temps separate oils from everything. Coffee is ruined when you put it in fridge, film appears on food, and simple compounds break apart. Molasses, Honey and Glycerin all follow suit.

2. If you were right, why don't you put food in the fridge and eat it a year later?

well i see this question has been answered, to my relief, because i shudder at the thought of putting shisha in your humidor! it would ruin your humidor and everything inside it! oh i'm picturing mold and stink....
