Lord Of The Rings Mmorpg

i played on the stress test over the weekend and i gotta say it looks really pretty. it plays well also. i made 2 charcters; a human lore-master(mage), and a dwarf champion(warrior). i really enjoyed the mage class(i love dps characters). The warrior wasnt bad either, as he starts of dual-wielding instead of having to learn it later(most games have u learning that around lvl 20). I noticed lookin at the warrior skill that u have to learn the 2 handed weapon skill tho. all in all i think it's gonna be a great game. i may even do the founder thing where u preorder the game and get guaranteed beta access, keep ur character from beta, two special items and a special intro price.

I heard if you drop like two benjamins, you can play the game for life without a monthly fee.

that's correct. it's part of the founder program. either $199.99 one time or $9.99 a month. the regular monthly fee is supposed to be some where around $15 a month.

I was. I've been killing myself with work and allergies, and haven't had time for anything else.

But, I cancelled my WoW subscription. When things slow down in a month or so I'll be taking up LOTRO. Fun game, and it's something different than WoW. And it's pretty.

i just saw a video review on ign.com for this game and it looked amazingly fun! so those of you playing how do u like it. i am knee deep in wow finally gettin my main to outland but i wouldnt mind playing a game that i got the impression of from the video review you dont have to sit there and quest/grind for hours on end to advance decently.

Playing it at the moment, great game..graphically its supieror to WoW, it also has massive room for expansion. Although the life time offer was only offered to the people who pre-ordered i'm told.

Yea, I'm a Lifer. wink.gif

I've played WoW on a few rial periods and liked it a lot. You'll get a lot of the same features there with LOTRO but it is NOT a magic heavy realm (the biggest criticism I have read). The game is a lot of fun. I fellowship with people who quit WoW to play LOTRO and I fellowship with those who still play WoW. And, I am sure that there are people out there who completely hate LOTRO.

Pimpito, I'll see if I have a 2nd buddy pass to give out and if I do, it is yours.

I've been following Conan for quite some time. Warhammer, too. They're actually making a Warhammer 40k MMO as well. I play the tabletop game. The thing I like about Warhammer and to some degree, Conan is that you don't have to PvE to level; you can play a pure PvP game and still progress. I'm a big PvP guy and that's important to me in games.

As far as LOTRO, I was in the beta, was not impressed. Granted, it may have changed since I played it, but I doubt it's changed enough to change my mind.
