He's working on a style that sinches around the handle. Also it will be extra long for a nice ruffle look. I can;t wait for those.Smiley

CaliforniaRose
I love Pink Croc, my travel jewelry holder is pink Croc. If it didn't go against the entire color scheme of my hookah I'd be all over finding out how to get a pink croc hose cover. Those both look awesome. azcoyote
Thanks Smiley for posting those pics. So happy you are pleased. Looking forward to meeting y'all when you are in town. The colors of the "pink snake" are supposed to be a vibrant raspberry and hot pink with bright yellow gold squares. Maybe your pics are a little underexposed? Did you use flash? I am grateful anyway. Cali Rose - what is the color scheme of your hookah? I bet I have something to compliment it. If you can post some good pics, I'll make you a sweet deal on it. PM me if interested. Anyone else got a fancy hookah that needs to be esthetically enhanced? Can you post good pics?Yesterday I made a few of the ruffled type and they came out great. One in a rust color of nylon microfiber. Used it last night at home. It definitely added to my enjoyment. It's 120" long which means lot and lots of ruffles. Too cool for school!CostRight now these are only available on a custom-made basis. Microfiber fabric retails for around $25/yd. or more. So there is around $7 just in materials per. Labor would cost me about $3. per if I used homeworkers and paid piece rate. So my cost is around $10/cover in labor and materials. Add $2 for shipping and we are up to $12. To stay in business, a manufacturer must make at least 100-percent markup on all costs in order to yield a decent profit after paying rent, power, phone etc. So provisionally, I see custom hoses jackets as pictured retail priced at around $20 and up.I could use $2/yd fabric, but you'd know immediately it was nothing really special. Now if someone wants a few hundred hose covers for $5 ea. so they can sell them for $10 ea., I can probably find a some materials that will be good enough and still satisfy the other economic considerations. I would invest in an high speed industrial serger and would be in production pretty quick. Until then, it's custom interior design and a bit pricey, though not outrageous. For hookah forum members who want to help me develop this idea I am offering these now for my cost, $12, provided you are willing to post reviews and pics. I would want to show these on a variety the better quality hookahs. I will limit this offer to six people initially. The offer may be repeated. The limiting factor is my time. I only get to work in the shop for x hours per week. Unless I put someone on this, it takes me away from my usual $50/hr shop rate. Naturally, buying twenty at a time like Smiley will get you a price break. I know this probably sounds high to many people here. Most sewn goods are now mass produced in places like China and sold here at a small fraction of what it would cost to produce them locally. But China can't offer custom-made products like this. So I cater to a market that is willing to pay for a product of the highest quality, made with no shortcuts, expressly for them. Like my Carvin bass. I had one made for me and it cost a few hundred more than a Mexican Fender. I had to wait 2 months for it. But the workmanship, fit, finish and sound are so worth it. Everyone who sees it and hears it is just knocked out. I strive to achieve the same reaction to anything I produce in my shop.

azcoyote
Id like to get one for my blue mya pyramid, those covers look so pimp[/quote]CAN DO. Just give me some ideas of your color and style preferences. I made a rufffled one yesterday in a heavy upholstery fabric that might do. It has a beige field with a powder blue pattern in raised chenille. This fabric came from a previous job, it was priced at around $45/yd. It is very plush. It should work with most standard hoses. If you want that one, pm me with your address and I'll give you my paypal info. If you don't have paypal, I can accept a money order or cash. Thanks for your interest.
