Jimmyzaid Goes On Perm. Vacation.

Recommended Posts

This guy is like a used car salesman. Just won't give up. Came back as himself this time to say how much the forum needed him and how he was still offering his services and advice and how he didn't do anything wrong. So there isn't even a short warning period here.

If you like his prices and his stuff, buy from him. Review your purchases in the review section under HookahETC., but each time he tries to come back to the forum he's gonna get banned.

If ANYONE approaches you via PM's to buy stuff, do what you will but we'd appriciate a messege so we are atleast aware of whats going on.

IPB allows you to ban by IP , but it's ineffective because most people have a dynamic ip and even if they don't they probably know a way around it. Just easier to be on the lookout for the IP address. If he continues to much just contact his service provider and inform them he is spamming...They'll just cut off his internet wink.gif .

Very tacky tactics on the part of a "business man" as far as I'm concerned. Good job guys.

He messed up and realized that there is more money on here to be made than he thought. That's why he is fighting to stay on here so badly. *rollseyes*

I am glad he's gone. I hope we can get rid of him permantely.

Yep.... one of those kinds of trolls.

Too bad... at first I thought the guy was just overly enthusiastic... and this would make a great place to "peddle ones wares"

I think Ive told this story here before... maybe not. But its worth the re-hash.

I run a political and pro 2nd ammendment oriented site that has been around . geee. almost years...
This drew in a certain creep known around the big internet gun circle as "Gunkid" Wouldnt be surprised if a few here have hear of him Anyway, Gunkid went out of his way to be an uber-expert and attacked those who dissagreed with his outlandish ideas...... and ultimatley.. his credibility. Everyone banned gunkid... usually on a weekly basis... he simply came back in using some other strange name and you could spot him within a few posts. His grammar was extremely poor (much worse than mine) and had a few trademark topics that would betray his identity. He did overcome a few of the banning options by utilizing a few tricks (which Im not going to name). It didnt matter.. the populace soon came to realize that he was a nuisance and everyone rejected what he had to say.

The truth is that there are some folks that have so much disrespect for the rules that they will actually ply themselves against them while posting. Pisses you off, huh? Bastards!

So...... what do you do? How do you wage a war with someone that seemingly does not have the presence of mind to see that he is unwelcome?

He's scorned. he's mad..... he's preparing for war now. But, what war can you wage... its just an internet site, right?

Freakin weird stuff with folks out there in the intercyberwebamajig.

Heh i'm glad this post clarifies a lot of what this forum stands for. For us new arrivals "deals" and ways to jump into the wondorous world of hookah for cheaper is a path that we seek every day. Bastards like these trying to scam find new arrivals easy prey i think y'all should post a sticky about how not to accept any deals for those that have less common sense than others.

Perhaps I should clarify some things. And while some of this may come out sounding like contradictions you have to understand. As a Moderator I see my job as 1)making sure people follow the rules of use and 2) Punishing/removing those who don't. I don't have to like the person, their products, or anything else about them, but if they are posting according to the rules, there isn't a bloody thing I can do to them and while I can express a limited personal opinion, I also represent the forum's owner, so my behavior has to be above everyoen elses and I can't play favorites.

HookahETC was not a bad guy all in all. He was arrogent, condescending, and to many annoying, but these are not removable offenses. Some other members complained about his behavior and we did talk to him about some of it, and those people made their feelings known as well. He broke the rules by pushing his products, first without sayign he was a vendor and in the wrong section. He got the standard 24 hours that many new vendors have gotten. He was banned because he did it again.

Some people bought some of his stuff from him offline, some went to his stores, none really had any complaint. They said he was honest and delivered a fair value for what he was paid. Our only problem was he wouldn't follow the rules set up for people who sell stuff.

This latests BS with Obsessed and later with Jimmy violated other rules about multiple accounts to get around a suspension and contunuing to push products. So he'll not be back in any way, shape,or form once we figure its him.

This DOESN'T mean he is a cheat when it comes to delivering what he's paid for and to be honest, his prices arent bad. But I can't see myself doing business with someone who'spractices I see as less than honest. Doesn't mean you can't and I suspect there are members who will continue to visit his real stores and order from him offline. He just can't play HERE.

That make any sense?

I think that this person's actions reveal a distinct lack of integrity and this should be taken into account when engaging in any business dealings w/ them.

We have enough sources of supplies here on the forum (though new ones from around the corner would be even better blink.gif ) that we can be selective.

This is supposed to be a pretty much laid-back place and this kinda stuff sends out the wrong vibes biggrin.gif

Mush is doing the right thing, (and his job here happy.gif )

Thanks to him and the other people here that make this a daily stop in my life biggrin.gif

i suggest put up a sticky not to purchase from his company i think that would be a sifficient punishment. we have tons of great comapnies on this forum that are not only helpful when needed but more active then the average member (smiley for example) these are the vendors that i respect as offcourse they run their buisness for money but they run it for the love of hookah. its allways nice to see the vendors come back and give hookahforum members a discount or a really cheap $15 hookah (that i somehow couldnt afford hahaha) but to me when a vendor comes on and used pushy free advertisement on a well balanced forum is not just direspectful to the forum but to hookah itself.

the way i see it if you want to purchase a stereo go for it anywhere you like, send a email about a question and get one very generic one back. when i went to purchase a hookah i bugged social smoke for like 3 days with tons of questions, they very politly told me all i needed to know and i guess waited for my next question. they never suggested me purchase more products, they never suggested i need top of the line and drop down 300 bucks for a hookah as a matter of fact they made me feel so comfortalbe purchasing from them i offered to send them a 6pack of molson canadian beer (now get my name? haha) they replied saying no need as it is our job!

i had much the same experience with both hookah-shisha and am in the process of purshasing a bowl from smiley. dealing with canadians i assume is more difficult (due to shipping and customs etc...) but i have NEVER recieved such service not from a single company non hookah related. when i joined the hookah lifestyle i am pleased to say it is very formal, friendly, and more then just smoking tobacco.

to me this is what hookah and our hookahforum is about and anyone trying to push it in a more generalized aspect when warned i think should be punished.

my 2 canadian cents haha

I wouldn't do that. Personally, I liked the guy. And he taught me a lotta stuff. For example... he showed me pricelists. I'm not going to say as to whose prices, but they are companies that I hear on here EVERYDAY. Let me tell you all something. We are getting ripped a new one. I'm not kidding here. This is a guy, that went out of his way to an internet customer and showed me what he got his stuff for, and showed me what very popular companies get their stuff for. I understand their is a need for profit, but some of these companies....its just appaling! Imagine paying $100 on a hookah when they only purchased it for like $20? and then Jimmy is telling you that he got it for $20 and is willing to sell it to you for say.... $40? That's honesty to me all right.

To me, he was honest, legit, and tottally upfront. He goes out of his way to get you the best possible deal and to ensure you get everything you need.

I have a feeling that you would be surprised to see how much you are getting "ripped off" on pretty much everything you buy. But, then again, you aren't buying things in wholesale quantities.

It may have been nice for him to show you the prices he gets, but chances are he was violating agreements (formal or informal) with the companies who's products he sells. That's not good business practice, and certainly doesn't go to help his credibility or honesty in my mind.

Ok, there will be no sticky about not buying form him, we covered all that already, and I believe it likely IS a violation to be passing around pric lists. ANOTHER example of poor business practice and anything to make a buck. This is a supply and demand kinda thing, you want to get wholesale prices? Get a business lisence, and EIN, and get ready to order in bulk and you;d be astounded at how much you can save.... cool.gif

It isn't ripping you off, it's capitalism.

Unless you think capitalism is ripping you off... well, maybe it is.

Either way, if you think it is a good deal, then it is. Just remember, the price they pay is after paying taxes (several times over... ABOLISH THE IRS... http://www.fairtax.org), import fees, paying employees, benefits, shipping costs, business expenses, rent, utilities and probably 35 other things I can think of. I have a few of the same lists for wholesalers because I applied for them after having credit checks done on myself when I had a few thousand dollars to burn and kicked around the idea of becoming a retailer. I didn't do it, in the end, but I don't feel like I am getting hosed every time I order from online reputable retailers like MNHookahs, Hookah-Shisha, etc.
