being a new smoker ive been searching the internet for tips and tricks on hookahs. It seems like half the sites i go to say refrigerate your shisha and the others say keep it room temp. What is better for the flavour and the life of the shisha or is it more of personal preferance? Edited by not.plugged.in

I think I've read around that putting it in the fridge sort of destroys the flavor. I know people that buy cigarettes in bulk put their cartons in the fridge but I don't think the same applies to shisha

I usually refrigerate mine just to be on the safe side.  I usually use it fast enough that it probably wouldn't make a difference, but I haven't heard of refrigeration hurting the tobacco. It doesn't present any problems when smoking, at least none that I have found and I t
hink that refrigeration is probably reccomended if you plan on keeping the shish

hmm..i should try that with MY keys...

anyway, the stuff is good for years just the way it is, so refridgeration really shouldnt be needed and it will take that much longer to accimate when you are ready to smoke it.

My $.02

the thing with a fridge is (the way i see it) dry out your shisha. this is because cold air holds very little moiture (and the wetter the shisha the better) so with this i figure it would dry out

pop question using the above info wheres the dryest place on earth?

A: the south poll offcourse

On drying out: don't people mostly keep their shisha in airtight containers? I personally don't keep my shisha in the fridge because it keeps plenty fresh on it's own, but if it's airtight, it won't dry out. Plus, honey/glycerin thickens in cold, so if you just mix your shisha really well and pop it in the fridge, the liquid should stay evenly mixed in the shisha.
