Mathazar
A month and a half, and all those problems? Hell, I woulda just sent the f**ker back for a refund, and then gone over to Hookah-Hookah.com and customized a Persian 4 hose hookah with the "Auto-Seal" system. The stems are gorgeous and the Plethor Hoses are the best I've ever smoked out of, and the vases looks cool, too. You can't go wrong with Hookah-Hookah, it's pure quality all the way
ZooJohnnyZETA
Sorry to hear about your bad experiances MonkeyBiz. It seems there have been a lot of people complaining about service at Hookah Shisha lately which leads me to believe that they have gone downhill since I last ordered from them about a year ago. When I ordered my medium Egyptian hookah from them, the package arrived undamaged with exactly what I ordered inside. The hookah with the appropriate color base and hose, along with the massell and extra freebies they promised. If I recall the shipping time only took about a week and a half. So its really too bad that the service has gone downhill so much in the past year. They used to be really top notch in that regard. I hope you get the situation worked out with them smoothely and quickly, MonkeyBiz. Best of luck
MonkeyBiz
Thanks for the encouragement. I hope that I can get this sorted out tomorrow. If they're going to make me buy new stuff, f**k it. I'll just deal with it.
MonkeyBiz
Well, I didn't hear from Hookah-Shisha at all today, so I finally said f**k it and decided that it wasn't worth it with dealing with the hassle of returning it. So, I smoked with a few friends, and I'll admit that I was a bit quick to judge. The hookah is perfectly functional, once I got it nice and tight, and honestly looks really nice once there's water in the base. My apologies to Sami, but in the future a little better quality control would be nice.
NERV
FYI biz, not sure if you'll ever find 4 identical wood hoses, i have never seen any 2 that were alike, alaways even multiples of the same syle hose have slightly different lathe patterns. and as for the vase, again, never seen a perfect one, keep in mind that these are generally handmade, and if you expect the glass to be window smooth than your expectations are just too high
MonkeyBiz
Yeah, thanks. I dunno, I'm a computer geek so I'm used to everything being exactly the same in every product. I don't buy much handmade stuff. But thanks for that.
cypress
Post a pic of the hoses so we can see what you are talking about. As for each hose being unique I can understand. It also depends how far they are off in color. Im my oponion there should be an effort from the company to get it as close as possible with in reason. MonkeyBiz
I had a chat with Sami today, and he cleared everything up. I retract most of what I said, after he explained it to me. The ash catcher is made of a heat resistant metal, since people were complaining about being burned. In hindsight, I like it. The base looks much better with the water. I'd definitely recommend buying from these guys. The customer service really is top notch, and the products are really nice.
RuarriP
What happened with the hoses? Did Sami sweet-talk you into liking them too?
MonkeyBiz
Sami explained that since the hoses are handmade, each one is going to be different. Having smoked out of it, I really don't care since it smokes like a dream.
HookahCulture
Yeah most of the products are hand-made so imperfections are par for the course especially for Egyptian items. I've noticed that Syrian and Jordanian items are of higher quality, and the best way of all is to buy a hookah and accessories in person. Overall with hookahs there are a lot of imperfections and welds can get dammaged in transit. I'm quite sure that with hookah shipments there are differences in quality in the same batch. Thankfully enough I was wise to this fact BEFORE I decided against going into the hookah retail business, because we're alll very scrutinizing about the end product. Customer service is a bitch, as many of you know from job experiences, but the retailers must grin and bear it...... Sadly, much Egyptian product is hand-made and often quality control overseas has low standards. My $ .
RuarriP
If you're happy now that's great. But, keep in mind that handmade items shouldn't be accepted as lower quality items. After all some of the finest stuff in the world is handmade or hand assembled (fine furniture, lamborghini autos, breast implants.) The individual fabrication of items should ENHANCE their quality rather than detract from it. The maker should be able to spot his errors and correct them before they make it to the consumer. So, all I'm saying is that flaws that made you unhappy about your purchace should not be explained away through the 'handmade' argument. I think HC is right about low quality-control standards, which is too bad. My thought on hoses is that if you got a multiple hose hookah, then they should really match, or at least be similar in colour, theme, decoration etc. I imagine that it is quite difficult to resolve these issues with an online store, no real bargaining chips eh? Items paid for and delivered before you can notice any flaws or errors. Oh well. Hope your hookah brings you pleasure
