cafesaden
Okay so I just tried tangiers for the first time. Tried Red Tea and packed it like Sonthert said. Tasted like smoked beef jerky for the 15 minutes that I smoked it. Tons of holes, small phunnel with scallis, laid it in there. ALl that good stuff, let it aclimate. Wasn't harsh at all but tasted like beef jerky. Tried Melond Blend. This was a little better but still had a beef jerky aftertaste. i mean it even smells like it right out of the package.Anyone know whats up? or is this the way its suppose to be? Scheetz
dont use the scalli mod. And pack another bowl. For hole pattern make 3 rings with 4 small holes in the center phunnel. 2 40mm coals will do the trick for a full packed bowl. Even 1 coal works. cafesaden
Ok I will try this, but does your tangiers SMELL like smokey? I got Red Tea, Melon Blend, and Lemon Blossom. They all smell like smokey beef with a hint of the flavor mentioned. But thanks for the info so far, I will try this tomorrow.Anyone else got any ideas? And as I acclimated it the smokey smell became more faint and the flavor smell came out.
killersnowman
this is interesting. my most recent batch of Red Tea had the same problem. kinda tasted like meat. i posted my findings on the forum and everyone kinda shot it down saying that i must have done something wrong. well, i didnt and my red tea still tastes like meat.hope we can get to the bottom of this

staygone
Both my red tea and blackthorn came out of the bag smelling "smokey", haven't smoke them alone but when the're mixed with Layaline blackberry/bluberry they were delicious. Didn't taste like blackberry/blueberry beef jerky that's for sure, uber nasty I can imagine.
aronparsons
I have some Kashmir Peach that actually smells like a BBQ sauce (confirmed by a few other people); however, it still smokes/tastes like previous batches I've had that did not have that BBQ smell. JesusDoesVegas
I had that problem with blueberry. Also I just got some Tangiers lime that smells like jerky and chemicals (just the shisha). It smokes fine, but the way it smells I'm kinda scared to be smoking it.

looloopoopie
I must say, my passion fruit and watermelon smell and taste pretty smokey. Aside from the smokiness, I think they're ok. But I think the smokiness kills it a little bit. And yes, I did acclimate. Le sigh :/-loo
rattler
You guys...Nothing is wrong with Tangiers tobacco. I let my tobacco acclimate in open air for a full day before I repackage it...By the time I'm repacking it it smells like what it is supposed to smell like...Peach, red tea, watermelon whatever. I pack my bowl in the morning and smoke in the afternoon (I even do this with Laylina or Nahkla). Yeah I know it's "extra work" but the results are worth it. Erica
Yep yep..You just have to let it acclimate...hah the first time I ordered tangy.. I was scared!!!!! hahah It was black and smelled funny.. hahaaReally.. acclimation does wonders for this stuff....
maggmaster
In my opinion it does not taste like beef jerky, quite frankly it is all I smoke now. Tangiers DOES however have a distinct undertaste of mollasses that permeates all of the flavors. I like it, most of my friends like fruity stuff like starbuzz. I imagine it is not for everyone, if you are a fan of the "candy" shisha it may not be for you. Personally I prefer dark and smokey to sickly sweet. Case in point I have 100$ worth of starbuzz that I rarely smoke but I smoked through 250g of Blue gumball in a month.
art_official
perhaps it was 84 red meat ahhahnah let tangiers acclimate, sometimes my tangiers apple takes in some weirdd asss flavors haha
Macho555
Oddly enough I've had the same thing happen to me...ghosty sent me a sample of Summer Solstice, and when i went to smoke it, surely enough, it tasted like BBQ Jerky...absolutly disgusting... I tried accimulating it for an entire day, and still....same disgusting taste. I have no idea what happened to make it taste like that. The smell even changed, from when I had first gotten it.
