ioannisds
I just received an order from SS today, one day earlier than expected. Just some accessories, nothing really exciting, but I thought I should show you folks why SS is so awesome. First, the cleaning brushes. Now, if any of you have ordered brushes online before, you know how they usually show up: twisted up like a pretzel from the state fair. You bend them out straight, but they always retain some of the original abuse. Not the case with the brushes I got from SS today. They are sealed in a plastic shell, and in perfect shape:I also purchased a couple of their bowls. I have always like the generic Egyptian clay bowls for solo smoking, just because they seem to hold the right amount of ma'assell for one of my sessions. BUT, they suck. If you use even the slighest amount of force when placing them on the stem, the neck of the bowl inevitably cracks. Not to mention they sometimes look like they were made by a retarded gorilla with a migraine. The Social Smoke bowls have everything I like about the regular clay bowls, but appear to be much, much, much sturdier, and nicely made. Here are some shots of the bowl: The neck seems like it would hold up a lot better than the poopie bowls too: AND, you get a nice, new, nubby grommet for your stem:I also ordered some coals and some tobacco, and of course they showed up fine. It's hard to screw that kind of stuff up, I would think. I am just really pleased with the little details that SS puts into some of their items. To me, it's stuff like this that makes the difference between a good vendor and a great vendor, and Social Smoke is definitely the latter. Now go buy some stuff from them, why don't you .Edit: Mods, I'm not sure if this should go in the review section or here. If it is in the wrong place, I apologize, and feel free to move it. cymptom
Those are some nice looking brushes! Yeah SS is pretty great -- there were some complications with my last order and they were extremely helpful in resolving the problems quickly, with some free Starbuzz for compensation! looloopoopie
When I get the urge to spend more money on hookah-related stuff (and actually plan on following through), SS will be my next stop. How they taunt me with all their pretty accessories and Starbuzz selection...!

Some of the other brushes I've purchase had such flimsy bristles they basically did crap when it came to scrubbing. I'm gonna test the bowl out tonight and I'll post back tomorrow telling y'all how it worked.

spoolinspoon
I bought a large bowl and its BIG. It looks so weird on my 32" SS Egyption. Good quality bowl!
rovelz
I just broke my SS clay bowl the other night. I've had some problems getting it on air tight. so, just be careful, it's still clay, and still fragile. Breaking that bowl just gave me a reason to pick up a pyrex/glass bowl. Also, is that their Medium, Large or X-Large bowl?Ok, I had a session last night with the new bowl, and it is great. It is the medium sized bowl, but it is still pretty big. It's hard to tell, but a lot of the size has to do with the thickness of the clay, I think. The bowl itself is about as deep as your standard Egyptian, but a bit wider. The grommet included works really well, and seems to form a nice tight seal. Filled it to just under the rim with Pharoahs Exotic Peach, slapped some foil on, a 40mm Three Kings, and started smoking.I did notice it took a little bit longer to get the bowl going than usual (with the standard bowls I get pretty thick smoke not long into my session), and again I attribute this to the bowl's size and heft. Once it got going, all was well, and the smoke was thick and flavorful. Now, I don't know how it would compare to some of those "miracle" bowls out there (Tangiers, Smiley's, etc), but I am perfectly happy with it. Overall I am very pleased with it, and as long as it doesn't break at the neck, I've got a bowl I can live with. Breaking that bowl just gave me a reason to pick up a pyrex/glass bowl. What were you doing exactly when you broke it? I'm kinda shocked because I really jammed my bowl onto the stem with the grommet provided (on purpose, I was in the mood for a stress test, and if it broke, well, c'est la vie). Were you using the SS grommet? What kinda stem? How much force? Like I said, my first impression is that these bowls are built like a tank, and it would take a lot to snap one. rovelz
Yes, the SS gromet on my SS egyptian hookah. i was also jamming it on with a good amount of foce. the bottom part just crumbled on one half. I don't know if it was me or the bowl that screwed up, but it was probably me. luckily, i have another bowl.
