TheRoots
so I was at my local smoke shop, or one of them. Gotta love Glendale and their middle eastern pop, got 3 shops within 10 minute drive of my house, err, back to the point. And I saw the bambino, my QT is great, but its kinda tall and its not got that pretty engraving on the stem, and well shit, I had a couple bucks in my pocket so I said "ohh, pretty" and next thing I know I've got a bambino. Well other then the fact it smokes better then the hookahs I get at cafes, and better then my big egyptian and its cute all the same. But I've run into a problem with it. The grommet is really flimsy, I get a bit of water leaking out and it wont let me put the stem on all the way because it scrimps up at the very bottom. other then that. Since I picked up the bambino I've been getting far better at packing bowls, to the point I'm now getting entire sessions that just taste bad when they're done, rather then causing terribly rough smoke, well when Im not using tangiers. but tonight, rather then getting a rough smoking session I had a weak one. At first I thought it was because i didnt pack enough, it tasted kind of foul, so I pulled off the foil and packed more tobacco and after about 10 minutes it started getting a bit better, a real cloud of smoke, a bit of flavor but it never got as flavorful or as thick as a normal bowl would. Is there an explanation for this? What's the best/cleanest way to store tobacco? When will MNhookah finally replenish their tangiers supply so I can order a funnel bowl and some new flavors? Roninjinn
I myself have been looking for an answer to how to store the shisha to maximize freshness. I've heard keep it in the case it comes in, I've heard put it in a plastic baggy, i've heard refridgerator, etc.If anyone can help, please do. mushrat
I think there was just a thread about this last week.no one agrees. MOST seem to agree a tupperware/disposable storage like container is good. Some say refridgerate, others say no. It's really going to be up to you all since there is no RIGHT answer. Scheetz
What's the best/cleanest way to store tobacco? In ziploc bags or tupperware containers. I choose ziploc bags, they are far cheaper and you can toss them when you are done. When will MNhookah finally replenish their tangiers supply so I can order a funnel bowl and some new flavors?Message MN hookah and find out. They normally get stuff pretty fast but within a week I would say. Who knows, Eric/Tangiers makes it himself so it takes time.
llooaaii
According to my experience 8 years hookah smoker put tobacco in a place with no air but i don't like it in refrg. you can leave it in the same pocket but close it carefully from air. cafesaden
Ok for the storage part. I now use tupperware found at the dollar tree (fellow member pointed me there ) I got like 15-20 containers for less then 7 bucks. The reason I use tupperware instead of plastic baggies is because that SOME tobacco requires to be mixed/stirred up. Like Tangiers. Try stirring tobacco in a ziploc back. Also it is much cleaner and easier to pack bowls out of tupperware. It reseals easily etc etc etc. You can also just throw them in the dishwasher when you want to put a new flavor in it. Why I wouldn't refridgerate tobacco:Almost all tobacco should be acclimated before smoking. Thus said, unless you want to acclimate your tobacco everytime you go to smoke, don't put it in the fridge. I have tobacco sitting around for a year and still smokes like new. Just go with tupperware its wonderful.
RandomTask
putting it in tupperware is a good idea...i gotta try it. I usually keep it in the same container it comes in then wrap that in a plastic bag, its been working well.
cafesaden
yes but isn't it messy? unless you buy tubs, 50 gram boxes are a mess. unwrapping and rewrapping the tobacco. try tupperware
JoeLipinski
I would think that putting tangiers in a plastic bag and mixing the heck out of it, would be the best way to mix it because the juices (I would imagine) would get more evenly distributed. Even though I said this, all of my hookah tobacco is kept in tubs, usually the tubs they come in. When I get finished with a tub, I just peel the sticker off, clean it out and put a new sticker on it along with some new hookah tobacco.
