nargile_men
Anyone think that the brand has an impact on buzz? I have no idea if it's because i haven't smoked in a month, but i went to a lounge and it hit me hard. I am used to Romman and Al fakher.. - i have read reviews on flavors and companies and am curious if anyone thinks a company matters.
cypress
In my opinion its the brand and flavor. My experience is that even in the same brand i have different levels of a buzz. So far the best buzz i have gotten is from hookah hookah margarita.
ZooJohnnyZETA
I agree with Cypress. The buzz varies quite a bit from brand to brand and on ocassion from flavor to flavor. Romman doesnt make my head spin anymore, but I recall that at one point I smoked some Romman Double Apple that had me almost falling out of my chair from the buzz. The next time I tried that flavor I only felt a mild relaxing feeling. I've tried many brands of massell over the past few years... Nakhla, Al-Waha, Romman, Al-Fakher (all 3 lines), Splash, Sultan, Al-Amir, and a few others as well. In all this smoking I have found one brand of massell that gives me a huge buzz and head rush everytime I smoke it. This brand being, "Sultan". The flavor of Sultan is very subtle and by no means strong. Its not a massell you would by for flavor, and in no way compares to the flavor of Al-Fakher. I keep it on hand only for the times when I really need to unwind from a stressful day. Although Sultan might make a very good tasting massell that I havnt tried, seeing as how I have only tried Tutti Fruitti and Peach. The Tutti Fruitti has a very soft cotton candy sort of flavor to it, but thats really not what you smoke Sultan brand massell for anyway. The flavor isnt at all offensive, its just VERY (and I mean very) light. If your interested in trying some Sultan brand massell I suggest checking out http://www.tobaccoimportusa.com/tobaccosho...hop/index.php/a ction/category/id/1/subid/1/ And if you try Sultan and don't care for it then its no big loss because Sultan only costs $7 a jar. If you want a great buzz that is my best recommendation to you. Give it a try and let me know what you think
NERV
condition of the hookah also seems to be a factor, ever since i FINALLY cleaned it out, the buzz aint as good, the smoke is smoother and better tasting, looks thick enoguh, but doesnt 'feel' as thick, and the buzz is a bit weaker, im tihnkin it might be the water level though, i should go check that right now, update in a little bit after if empty some fo the water and start a new bowl... HAKOOH
ROMMAN PEACH gives me the craziest buzz. That stuff is incredible. Eskandarandi Apple does it for me too from the Golden Fakher line. Of all the shisha ive smoked nothing beats the Romman Peach. -Mark C
RuarriP
Try not cleaning out your pipe for a few days, or weeks...that should give you a heck of a buzz
cypress
Try not cleaning out your pipe for a few days, or weeks...that should give you a heck of a buzz
I think the fungus growing in the water adds to the buzz in this case. NERV
things to increase the buzz: smoke on an empty stomach, but dont smoke hungry, you know, that time about 2-3 hours after you eat where the food is out of your sotmach but you arent hungry yet, that is the best time. the harder and longer the pull, the better, just make sure your arent smoking anytihgn thatll burn easy. as previously mentiooned by me, less water = better buzz, u dont want too little water thos cuz then the smoke cud be harsh, needs to be just right. yes a dirty hookah will give you a better buzz, but it will also not taste that good and the smoke wont be as smooth. UNCONFIRMED i believe that either mixing something into the water or using somethign other than water may increase the buzz because it will reduce the liquid's filtration effectiveness dont use foil, lol it will work, but then you will propbly be doing the equivalent of inhaling a cigar, so dont do that unless u have a death wish
Clithoris007
Nerv Are you implying in putting the coal right on top of the tobacco? um if so that's a little bit too hardcore for me. but perhaps maybe i shall try just out of curiosity/stupidity
NERV
lol, like i said, dont do it unless u have a death wish, my local hookah show will put the coals directly on the tobacco if you want, i have tried it, it is VERY strong and im sure is quite unhealthy so i dont do it much
Clithoris007
nerv out of curioisity what flavors have you tried this on? a cat has nine lives i tihnk by just trying once i will lose one already. but anyways back to the subject, what flavors have ut ried? which do u prefer to at least taste the flavor? NERV
well i dunno well this will work at home, they use natural coals and a different type of bowl, very shallow and wide and they pile it up high, but ive done it with plain, apple, and strawberry, it doesnt really change the flavor but the smoke is so strong its almost impossible to take a long drag without coughing and you are lightheaded after 1 or 2 puffs
King Mo
I dont get a buzz from shisha any more, as i smoke too much anyway. If you are a cigarette smoker, then any buzz is very very limited indeed. things likely to give a buzz, Zaghlool, Nakhla double apple, or the Qema range of tobaccos, esp Qema Apple. RuarriP
I smoked cigarettes for about 8 years, and have been smoking shisha for five years or so. I recently quit smoking and noticed a decidedly different effect from the hookah. Smokers tend to get a more relaxed, mellow, narcotic sensation that is unrelated to nicotine. Non-smokers tend to feel more diverse effects from the smoke, mostly because of the nicotine (and I know, I know there's not supposed to be much nicotine in shisha tobacco but there's still more than none. And none is what non-smokers have in their systems) Dizziness, slight euphoria, lightheadedness, etc are all characteristics of early effects of cigarette smoking. So, to sum up: Non-smokers get more buzz, while smokers get the nuanced, subtler buzz. ok I'm done
Clithoris007
hey somebody here mentioned zaghoul flavorless tobacoo. is this tobacoc dry, somewhat moist, or heavy moist like...anyways moist like fakhler rose tobacco? im interested in this zaghoul flavorless tobacco, anybody got comments/inputs? NERV
its somewhat moist, but hardly, very sticky tho
Clithoris007
very sticky? i was always udne the assumption that it would be dry sice its flavorless, but that was my assumption..im not pro status yet unlike some of you diehards here, and i define diehards in mroe than one way if we are all going @ the pace we smoke shisha :-)
NERV
ive been trying to tihnk of something to compare it to to give you an idea but i cant tihnk of anything, zacloul or plain isnt just straight tobacco, there is honey or molasses cuz its black or dark brown, not green or light brown, like a dried tobacco leaf. now that i tihnk about it, i guess it has a consistency like sticky tack, a light touch isnt sticky, but if you pick it up, grip it, it sticks pretty strong to u
ju421019
I am trying to figure out how to avoid the buzz. I just went to a hookah lounge in Miami and used regular tobacco, got a spinning feeling in my head - which I don't like. I thought: 1. The reason for the buzz was because there were two coals on the tobacco, making it stronger. 2. The tobacco itself. I just bought Al-Fakher 50g brands, which I'll try, but I can't smoke hookah more than 1-2 in a week. But I hate the Buzz - I want to avoid it as much as I can - about 3-4 years ago, I use to smoke it with friends - no buzz at all -- we just enjoyed the flavor. And that's what I want - to just smoke the flavor. Thanks
NERV
al waha, romman, and al amir, all buzz free, also quicklites should give less of a buzz since they dont burn as hot as natural coals
