Buying A Hookah / Sheesha

Recommended Posts

from past experience..dont get it off ebay. there must be somewhere local you can get it?

for me in surrey i can get it from my local high street, or if i take a 30 min journey into central london i can get it there.

try not to get it off ebay, i made the mistake of buying two off it and i do regret it.

It looks alot like smileys 15 hookah.... You should see if he has any more left. http://www.hookahforum.com/index.php?showt...7857&st=260
Its a cheap one so don't expect great things but mine works okay in a pinch. Good luck.

yeah, im looking back and forth from the pic on that ebay page and the smiley $15 hookah sitting beside me, and i think they are identical. in which case +1 for the hookah itself, but ebay is always a nervous point.

the hose port looks different... but I love smileys 15 hookah smile.gif
it doesnt look the same though... I would be very careful. And buy locally if possible?
When I got my first hookah, I talked to my tobacconist for an hour picking one. I ended up with a MYA mini-orb acrylic and to this day 2 years later, its awesome. [and upgradable.]

but yeah, the one on ebay.. positives: traditional look, stainless steel
negatives: one piece stem [cleaning more a pain], doubt that hose is washable, and bowl looks like it'd be rly shallow.

just my input.

yea that hookah smiley was selling looks similar but the one he's looking at is much taller mines about 24" I think. I'll see if I can get a hold of a camera and take a few pics for you but, I think its an awesome looking piece and smokes well. Also mine is a double hose so its a bit different there but everything else looks almost the exact same. Edited by popete

the problem with ebay over, some other internet vender is there is even less security when it come to your product. if something breaks in transit you will probably be s.o.l. There are plenty of reputable companies, and they have not only excellent customer service but great prices too.

Some of them are even members on the forum, giving even more security to your purchase, (after all some people sell stuff on the internet and disapear.) I believe it may be bad show to give thier names, but, in the end its up to you do you feel that saving that little extra, if any at all is worth it to buy from ebay.

I don't think I'd get any 'new' product off ebay, used certainly if I was looking for something very specific. I have a friend who owns a store in an unrelated hobby, many customers buy stuff on ebay, only to be very disappointed about the quality and end up buying from him... not only do they not save money, they spend more.

just my thoughts though...

Well we can only hope you get everything you wanted... I was going to purchase my qt from a ebay retailer, sadly he had a poor standing on the forum, so I didn't buy from him.
