Cydways
So me and my friends decided to invest in a hookah to smoke on occasion. None of us really have any experience with hookahs and as I've learned a bit by reading, we have been making some mistakes. I'm going to try a few things tomarrow to try an get better results but theres one thing I can't seem to figure out. People talk about smoking their bowls for a long time...but when we smoke we are only able to make about 2-3 rotations with about 4-6 people. before the smoke dies out noticably. I want to find out what we are doing wrong so I can enjoy the hookah without having to load the bowl every 15 or so minutes. We have a small(not sure how small) metal bowl and we usualy fill it about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way and use a layer of foil to cover it and we poke roughly 30-40(small) and we place on easy lite coal, I would guess they are small coals. Please, please help me! Thanks in advance.
DizzyGuy
First off, is the shisha burned all the way through? Or is it just the outsides singed? Or is there still tobacco left? Because it could just be A.) Metal Bowls suck for most people *granted, a few like them... but let me stress the word few* and heat up quickly and you could just be flat out burning the shisha... B.) Needs more shisha in the bowl C.) Too much coal/not enough coal and heat is dying out and I'm sure there are more factors
Cydways
I don't exactly know what completly burnt shisha looks like, but it turns crispy(with a still some stickyness to it) and sometimes its stuck to the foil, which I think may be a problem? Luke69
My best advice to you is to get a new bowl. Like Dizzy said, a metal bowl is generally pretty hard to use even for more experienced smokers. Go for a larger bowl i'd suggest tangiers regular, or if you want a little bit of challenge, the funnell bowl. Both of these will allow for longer smokes especially the funnell. They are a little hard to figure out for some people at first but once you get it down they are easily one of the best bowls.
shisha fan
i think a metal bowl gets too hot if you don`t use the exact amount of coal needed, thus making the shisha last for a very short time. ceramic bowls let you manage the heat more easily, so i would recommend that to you as a beginner. they are very cheap by the way. DizzyGuy
Basically all the way cooked through shisha is a hard black puck, not squishy and sticky and more and just black... if the middle is still unused you are frying the outside, but not getting it all the way through... yeah, Tangiers regular bowl or phunnel bowl would work best... and probably having a big bowl wouldn't hurt if you have tons of people smoking non stop
