Hey king mo just wonderin how much you pay on postage form the US to the uk on tobacco and do you incurr any additional VAT charges/gift tax/import tax?

the customs charges are based upon what the customs label says.

I can tell you that products labelled as tobacco, and above a certain
value (about twenty quid or so I think) will have VAT and duty added on.

it works out as alot.

As I said, it is based upon what the customs label says, so check with the company upon how they label it.

If you weren't buying tobacco, and were buying molasses or a gift of low value, then there would be no charge

It doesn't always work out.

I have only ordered twice and the second time I got hit for £30 even though it only said a value of $20.

Sometimes if the box is big and their is only a low value then they will get suspicious and open it.

I dont like to pay tax. Gordon Brown has his head up his arse when it comes to tobacco You might as well smoke rolled up banknotes the way things are goin. Cheers for the input.
