GordonMac Posted February 23, 2007 Share Posted February 23, 2007 Im having trouble smoking it! I got my hookah from hookah-shisha.com and I got the syrian 3 hose. Anwaysy Its not the hookah its just my inexperience. I couldnt draw much smoke at all and it was very harsh. The shisha was burnt and it just wasn't going well. What do i do? Erica Posted February 24, 2007 Share Posted February 24, 2007 make sure that if you are smoking by yourself that you plug the other two hoses.. or they they have auto seals.the burning of tobacco could be a number of things...Make sure you are not putting TOO much tobacco in the bowl.. Depending on what brand, (well most brands) you are going to want to sort of sprinkle the tobacco in the bowl. DO NOT PACK THE TOBACCO DOWN!!!!!You may also not have enough holes is the foil.What kind of coals are you using?? GordonMac Posted February 24, 2007 Author Share Posted February 24, 2007 okay my bowl is a clay bowl. I had all the other hoses plugged. Im using not tin foil but the screen it came with. My shisha is romman mango. Im using 1 coal. When you say don't use that much shisha whats that mean? one pinch? Also do i fill the bottom up with water half way or more than half way? thanks guys! I mean, dont pack the tobacco down.... just sprinkle it into the bowl to the top.I don't use screens so I cant realyl help you on the part. Something like this... or like... I am going to assume that you are using the quick lights...(the ones you light with a lighter and they spark up and stink really bad)Make sure that the coal is red all the way through... or else you will get a nasty taste... You can blow on it while holding it with your thong, and you will see it is red. then place the cola on the sides of the bowl, and not in the center. I recommend 2 33m quicklite coals (the small ones) . Then inhale and enjoy. If you feel the tobacco buing, you can either blow slowly into you hose in quick breaths, or you can remove the bowl (might be hot), turn it upside down and blow inot it and you wil see smoke rising from the top of the bowl. Then replace the coals and smoke again. Each bowl should last about an hour. Make sure you wash your hookah after you smoke, cuase it can get pretty smelly if you dont...ENJOY! sdmopar Posted February 24, 2007 Share Posted February 24, 2007 Heres a tip, if you are using the metal screen to put your coals on it usually sinks into shisha which leads to it getting burnt. Flip the screen over so the indented part of the screen is up.This will give the heat the shisha needs without burning it and getting it stuck to the screen. web250 Posted February 24, 2007 Share Posted February 24, 2007 Water level 1 inch above stem bottom.I pack my bowls rather loosely, to about the rim, leavign a slight space between the foil and the tobacco.
