rez
First off i would like to say hello to everyone. I have been lurking these boards for the past couple weeks and just decided to register and post.I have been reading through alot of the posts and have learned a few things. I still have a few questions so i will post them up and see if anyone can answer them.1)what is the correct way to pack the bowl and setup the hookah to achieve the best flavor of smoke?-currently i am using a 20" single hose hookah. I fill the base with water 1" past the stem and i put ice cubes in the water. I sprinkle my tobacco into my bowl up to the rim and make sure it is not packed tight and the holes in the bowl are not covered up. I place one piece of foil over my bowl and use a fork to make holes. Normally i do 5 rows with a fork. I am using 3kings coal (the self light ones), sometimes i use one and other times i use two of them. I am having two problems with my setup above. First, the amount of smoke i get is less then desiarable. It seems like i am sucking too hard for too little gain. Second, after about 30-45min my tabacco is stuck to the top of my foil and 75% of it is burned. Third, while i am smoking i can only tase the flavor of the tabacco for the first 15-20 mins after that the flavor goes away.2)I am looking to buy a 3 hose hooka but i wanted to know how they smoke. When three people are smoking from it at the same time it would seem that you would go through your tabacco much faster and each person would not get as much smoke as if they were using a single hose hookah. Anyone have a three hose hookah? how do you like it?Sorry for the n00b questions.
shisha fan
1) you have set it up correctly. check for air leaks if the smoke is too thin.2) if you buy a three hose hookah make sure that you get one with valves. and you could get a bigger bowl if you go through the tobacco too fast. Altron
Use a tac, pin, or sowing needle instead of a fork. Make a circular motion on the tinfoil. Make sure your bowl is tightly screwed down, and make sure you have foil covering the whole bowl. Also make sure you break up the shisha enough and don't press it down.Like shisha fan said check for leaks. Make sure you screwed the base, stem and everything tightly. Before even smoking take rips and hear for leaks, and for the bubbling sound. About the 3 hoser, you dont need the valves part. It would just be nicer if you did have it.(EDIT)you are overpacking the bowl Edited February 24, 2007 by Altron
billy
Sorry to hijack your topic but....the middle of the pipe where the rubber bit is, do i push it all the way down or half way so its tight enough?
Altron
all the way down to make it as tight as possible. Screw it down and after that if you feel that it still isnt tight enough, get a wet paper towl and rub it against the rubber on the bottom and then retry it. Altron
up to the rim or a little under. make sure you crumple it up in your hands and don't push that shit down so it won't clog the holes. sparsely lay it out until you are there.
