wyteboy
OK so I found a place about 20 mins from me. I went there hoping to find nour or golden coals but found neither....I will just use my 3 Kings I guess for the first few smokes from my hookah.... The real question in this thread is that they had a new kind of maessel I don't think I had heard you guys talk about on here. I never heard of romman or al fakher or al amir or anything until I came on here the other day. Is Hookah Bros. hookah good? has anyone here smoked it or smoke it often? Like I said, I only bought nakhla and al waha to start and it sounds like most on here do not think they give a satisfying smoke so once I am done with them I will be looking to replace with better stuff. Bottom line, can anyone give me any feedback on "Hookah Bros." brand stuff? THey had strawberry, grape and a few others I forget. $4.95 for 50g....Thanks!!! wyteboy
Anyone? Cypress? mathazar? all the other regulars I've seen on here but can't remember right now? lol....any "hookas bros" brand maessel input would be appreciated... also random question, what do you guys mix most? like should I mix apricot and strawberry? either of those with coconut or vanilla? what are the more common mixes that people like? right now I own apricot, strawberry, coconut, vanilla and 5-star mix. for those who have smoked nakhla or alwaha, is the smoke very weak or very thin/not thick? I have heard in terms of the smoke they provide, not very good. I'll find out for myself soon, just looking for other opinions. When is my hookah gonna get here! lol
hookaman
try mixing coconut and vanilla taht sounds like an alrite mix. but anyway u should try ur own mixes and review them here like u try apricot and strawberry or any mix u want to do, then tell us if its good or not. I mean its not like ull get a bad smoke, just try it and see. and about the hookah bros ive never heard of them having tobacco so cant u help u there, sry

Clithoris007
Romman and Fakhler however you friggin spell it both good brands to me. Yes romman in my opinion is overpriced but if you got cash moeny bling, then go ahead buy it, Ive never been disappoitned with Romman not to mention the thickness of the smoke is thick and this is from using just 1 quick lite coal(cut in half). i use japanese coals personally, and ive put up to 3 one time i think i over did cuz the smoke was way too thick and started to burna little. but hey form ym take romman you can enver go wrong nor can yuo with fakhler. stay away from al waha! i know out there say al waha is better than nakhla, youll have to experience from your own exerpience which you prefer better wyteboy. cypress
I have heard of it and its 15 bucks a 250 on their web site. They only make about 5 flavors. I have not tried it yet but for that price I can just stick with Fakher since i can get it for 10 bucks a 250. Getting into this you are going to spend some money trying to find the brands you like. Don't get discouraged with all the choices you have but with any that is flavored (ie food, drinks, wine, beer, hard liquor ect ) you are going to have to find the ones you like for the right price. Its like this, there is a cognac i like that cost 150 a bottle but i dont go buy that bottle becuse its to expesive for my tastes and wallet. HookahCulture
The Hookah Bros. stuff is EXPENSIVE for what you get. Some flavors I heard aren't even that good, but some I hear are OK. Couldn't tell you which are what, I avoid the brand altogether. I don't think we even bother with Hookah Bros. anything here because it's not really authentic. Their hookahs are trend and expensive. A headshop near me sells the HB mu'asell for near FIVE BUCKS for a 50g! It's mostly for the trendite n00bs who don't know any better to research better brands which are more authentic and cheaper. The only Al Waha you should consider is the 5 Stars, which is a mixed fruit in a blue tub. The peach tastes like cardboard. Al Waha is $5 a tub here at the local store. I actually think the Al Waha mixed fruit is better in taste than the AF mixed fruit! THOUGHTS?
cypress
I actually think the Al Waha mixed fruit is better in taste than the AF mixed fruit! THOUGHTS?
I have tried both and like Fakher better. What I liked about Fakher is when I started to smoke it was like a cocktail in the begining but after about 15 minutes into the smoke I would begin to start picking out the flavors and it would change. When I tried the 5 star at a restraunt it just didnt seem as flavorful. I guess it could have been old stuff but if you say its better i might have to try a fresh batch and compare the two side by side.
HookahCulture
CYPRESS: Yeah fresh Al Waha 5 Stars that's moist is really good, and I also have experienced the layered flavor that you mentioned. However the initial AF flavor was too fake for me, like Gatorade or something. Also, your box went out today. Coincidentally I enclosed samples of Al Waha 5-Stars mixed fruits (fresh!), AF mixed fruits, and Saet Safa mixed fruits. All are gooey off the brick in these awesome mini tuppers I found. ZooJohnnyZETA
Hmm.. well, I never really tried Hookah Bros. masell simply because I have heard nothing but bad things about them. From what I understand the flavors are very artificial tasting and overly harsh on the throat. As HC said, it seems they are just a brand trying to appeal to inexperianced smokers who have a lot of money to burn. I would really avoid buying any products from this company in general. Having only smoked Nakhla and Al-Waha I think you will be amazed and sent straight to "Hookah Heaven" when you give Al-Fakher a try. The massell is much higher quality, the flavors are (for the most part) intensely strong, and worth every penny of the price. Out of all the brands in the world, I most reccomend Al-Fakher for a good smoke every time. I suggest you start with Grape, Strawberry, and Golden Seal Eskandaraini Apple for some really good flavors that will leave you begging for more. As far as Romman goes... well, they have their hits and their misses. Personally, I love Romman Peach and keep it on hand at all times. The Double Apple is very nice and thick, but is a little strong in the licorice department for me. When it comes to Romman's normal Apple I find it to be just plain underpowered... all I can ever taste is a mild lemon flavor. When it comes to Al-Amir people seem to have mixed feelings. I personally love it. I think they make fantastic Strawberry, Grape, Double Apple, and Peach flavors that I also try to keep on hand at all times. The strawberry tastes very real to me, the grape tastes like grape bubblegum, the double apple is balanced well, and the peach has a nice refreshing flavor very similar to Romman's. These are the three main brands I would suggest trying, although I recommend Al-Fakher above all others. Nakhla still makes some good flavors (such as Apple, Mint, and Double Apple) and Al-Waha does too (5 Star Mix, Honey, Cola, Cherry, Pineapple) but they just cant stand up to the quality of the smoke and flavor of the more expensive brands. Al-Fakher may cost more, but it's worth every cent. So save up some money and try ordering some from http://bnnimportexport.com/index.cfm . Trust me, you'll be glad you did
wyteboy
thanks zoo!! appreciate the reviews! I hoping the alwaha apricot is very good as I have been a huge fan of apricot flavor in the past...I realllly wanted pineapple but couldn't find it in any stores... Trust me, the moment I get my hookah I am going to first smoke nakhla strawberry, then probably apricot or 5star of alwaha and then compare the two on this forum!
