Though I really don't know what I'm talking about, I can't imagine that glycerin would have any seriously dangerous effects on the lungs. Short term reduction of performance, probably, but other than that I don't see it being too dangerous.

That said, I don't add it to my shisha unless it reallllly needs it -- like some really dry Nakhla or something. It will water down the flavor.

I've seen it for purchase at some grocery stores and health food stores.

Local pharmacies are were I get mine. I only use it to make my own. But you can add it to dry tobaccos to help moisten them so they don't burn.

Yeah the glycerin is actually what creates most, if not all, of the smoke that you see. More glycerin, more smoke.

Yep, but also the wetter the shisha the more heat you will need to make it smoke.

I'm going to pick some up as well. Some of my Romann is a little dry and I always want uber amounts of smoke.

Just to clarify, it's not super dangerous to add?

I've often used Glycerine to add to dry tobacco (Mainly Nahkla).

And whilst it does, appear, to give more cloudage.... it really does nothing for the taste.

I have some nahkla orange that i really cannot stomach anymore because of the taste.... and i added Glycerine. So i don't think that it's a 'cure all' for dry tobacco's.

Of course the alternative process is to just buy something better

Make sure its vegetable glycerin.

You can also find it at some health food stores.... sometimes in places like Hobby Lobby back in the soap making supplies.

Glycerin is a simple sugar, iirc. But its not that sweet. I believe you can accomplish the same thing by mixing sugar and water. If you have every made homemade smoke bombs, you know how much smoke sugar can make!

i purchased some 100% pure vegetable glycerine, i believe thats the stuff to use, so do i just add some to the shisha, light up, and smoke?

what section in the supermarket do you find it,,,i was googling and someone said in the baking section as its used with cake icing ?

I've experimented with it and it does truly make the smoke thicker however, it takes away a little of flavor as well.

Use it a lot though with Naklha.

Wouldn't know. I always mix it in a cup and put it straight after. I use circle paper towl under the bowl to connect it to the Hookah. It's much better than the regular plastic one because it sucks in any glycerine that might leak from the bowl if i put more than what I need.
