What kind of coals are you using and how many. The tabacco is not
supposed to burn  nor touch the aluminum. If your original coal in
not producing enough heat try using another coal without burning the
tabacco. Also, I never get a buzz with the grape. Could it be that the
coals you use be giving you a nasty buzz?

I think I reazlied my 3 yr old hookah which was in the garage -- might have contributed to the bad taste - esp the pipe - along with the burnt tobacco -- i got to find a coal screener from somewhere or ask my dad to get it -- the foil isnt working well

I am using the Japanese Lite Coal - which have worked well for me in the past -- the tobacco actually ended up touching the foil and sticking to it -- one coal was not producing enough heat so i put another one -- but then i got a real strong buzz which hit me in the head and made me dizzy -- which i hate.  So I took one off again --

My opinion is that Jap coals add a funny taste to the smoke.  I
have tried a couple brands and each one I could taste the silver
coating on them.  I use foil all the time and never have a problem
of burning or sticking. Try not to overfill your bowl. When placing the
coal on the foil dont push down on it. If after you solve the burning
problems and you still get that bad buzz try using Golden Coals. They
work great.

I've actually had a bad experience with those self lighting golden charcoals - i could always taste the chemicals -- will buy it again with the screen and give it another try -- but i need links to the best flavors/brand -- its urgent. thanks

I know its early in the morning fellas -- but i need some quick replies on the best flavors/brands -- I've got to utilize my dads trip from the mideast -- I need the best of these flavors :
Grape
Apple
Mint
Strawberry
Any other extraordinary ones would be great too.

Ummm... wow... okay...

This is all quite a shock to me, as Al-Fakher is pretty much the best
brand available.  If you cant taste anything with the Al-Fakher
your smoking then the problem has to be your hookah.

 Theres just no way you could smoke the Grape or Double Apple and
not taste anything.  If you urgently need the best brand of
massell, well then you have that already.

 I think what you urgently need now is a new hookah.

If you are going to try the quicklights then you must use Golden. I
have heard mixed reviews on 3 Kings and I used it once and did not like
it.
