nidal105
Hi there, I wanted to ask some of you more experienced hookah smokers about multi hosed hookahs. Ive been smoking for two years, usually with friends, but always with a single hosed hookah. Are the multi hose ones any good, do you get a shorter smoking time out of them? whats it like to use them and would you recommend them? Thanks heaps Nidal
lowtech80
well if there are 3 people using it...it will not last as long. if you are the only one using it..they provide plugs to plug up the other two holes.

mushrat
My wife heard me talking about wanting a hookah, and being the pack animal that I am I was looking at multi hose units..so she bought me a Raven from hookahook.com. http://www.hookahook.com/items.php?resultp...tpage=3&catid=1 Being the first one on the block with a hookah, the extra hoses have prooven useful for allowing more people to try it for a bit without interrupting the smoking enjoyment of those of us settled in. I don't know about other multi hoses, but this one has the little ball bearing "valves" so the unused hoses don't have to be stoppered for the others to work properly. Allowing people to come and go with no fuss. Though any hose i'm not planning on using I don't install and cork the socket to avoid clutter. Not real experienced, but own a 4 hose, so there's my 2 cents.
Clithoris007
mushrat u and i seem to be replyoin each other's statments. i also have that ball ebaring seal valve. its worked pretty well for me i must say, very air tight, form ym experience. sometimes a lil too airtight, one of my ports gets stuck sometimes(the bearing is not so round on that port and i am going to just put a bb in it i tihnk). mushrat i dont know if youve cleaned your valve area yet or youve noticed any "sticking" yet in which its harder to pull. but ive noticed after awhile my bearings will clkock from al th e residue and cleaning it is a good thing to do got mien from hooka-shisha.com the syrian triple chiller one thats my 2 cents also
dizzing
if you want to get a single hose hookah instead of a multiple hose one, you can stll get little brass fittings at your local home improvement place with ends designed to attach vinyl tubing to them, and you can get them that screw onto the pressure release valve socket perfectly - as long as you get the right threads, which isn't hard to do (just bring the valve with you) i made my 1 hose into a 3 hose this way, because once you convert the valve to a vinyl tube fitting, you can put splitters or whatever you want.. it works great, but i have not yet worked out an auto seal system (although i'm sure there is probably a way using parts that are readily available)
dizzing
oh and you can get little M/M barrel connectors for the tubing, i just put them in the ends and they function as little mouthpieces - very cool ,and cheap.. the entire setup start to finish to add 2 5-foot hoses was less than 10 dollars
