SAEPhoenix
Ok, so this is the thing. I have recently taken to one of my old hookahs. I need a good way to give it a good thurough cleaning. I have read about the alcohol, lemon juice, salt, and so forth that people have recommended- but there is one issue with this particular hookah, it is in the shape of a crane. This means that the neck of the crane is the top of the stem and is curved. I have been unsuccessful in getting a brush into parts of the stem because of the curve in the birds neck. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do, or is just the different cleaning solutions mentioned my best bet?
mushrat
I's have to say the cleaning solutions might be best. You might also find the extra ling, extra thick pipe cleaners to help with the job. Thats one of the draw backs we often mention with getting the sculpted stems.Fully submerging it in a tub of warm soapy water might also work, leace it for a few hours with Dawn or some such designed to work on grease and other organics.... just my .02 as I've never actually needed to use either of these methods... SAEPhoenix
yeah I currently use dawn and water to clean it for the most part (easy and quick) and it has seemed to work fairly well- just every now and again you want to do a good deep clean ya know? hbomb
For scrubbing the inside, I know the opening is small, but if you could tie something small and heavy like a small washer to a piece of string and tie some of the scrubby stuff to the other end, you could drop it through then pull it out. The only hard thing will be getting it around the bends if the pipe gets a little smaller. I've done this before a couple times and it works pretty good, especially after a little soak.
