jordanneff
Hey everyone, I just joined the forums (couldn't find a section for newcomers so I just posted here). I won't try to spam your forum with a useless topic like hello though haha, I do I have some questions and all but I just felt it'd be nice to introduce myself first. My name is Jordan, I'm from Pittsburgh, PA and relatively new to hookah smoking. The first time I smoked was only 6 months ago when a friend of mine took me to a hookah cafe. Since then I've gone to a few other ones close to me and enjoyed the experience quite a lot, in fact I've dragged a few friends with me the past couple times and gotten them into as well haha. Anyhow, my friend and I actually just split the cost of a (very) cheap hookah of our own. I know it's probably not going to be quality but there has been some problems lately with money so I'm pretty short on cash as well as him so we just bought the cheapest one we could find that wasn't a tiny little pumpkin hookah heh. I'll end up saving up for a better hookah in a couple months when I get my money situation under control. Anyway I've rambled on long enough, to get to my point - as I said I'm going to be buying my own shortly down the road, so 1) I know you probably get this a whole lot but what are your suggestions or favorite hookahs. I'll try to narrow it down a bit as what I think looks neat to me: I like the Egyptian style but usually the larger ones, I also really like the Mod hookahs but have found a lot of them being real expensive compared to others. I also was looking into rotators as I really only enjoy smoking with friends and it'd be easier to pass around I suppose but the bases always seemed a bit small and I wasn't sure if that would hinder the experience or smoke. And 2) As my friend and I have recently purchased a cheap (and hopefully functional ) hookah, what types of shisha do you recommend. I know some people like certain brands for certain flavors and such, yet some people swear to certain brands. Basically the only brand I know I've smoked is Nakhla and I didn't care for it too much. All times after that I always got premium flavors at the hookah cafes (but it never said what brand it was ) and so I didn't know what I was smoking, but I did know that the flavor and consistency was much better than the Nakhla stuff. So basically if anyone can list their favorite brand(s) that aren't really expensive (such as Romman I saw was real expensive, as well as like Al Fakher premium flavors) it'd be appreciated. Oh, and any tips or sites where I can get things for a decent price and such would be very helpful too. I'd very much like to chat with you all and continue to have enjoyable hookah experiences

ASUSEAN1
if you want something good that isn't hella expensive then try layalina and al waha. If you look around you can find these two brands pretty cheap and they taste a 100 times better than nakhla

sicklecow
Welcome!Al Waha Strawberry and After Nine are superb, Layalina Vanilla is nice, Havana Mint is a great mixer, Al Amir Cherry and Apricot are excellent as well.As for the pipe, I have a 32" Two Hose Egyptian from socialsmokehookah.com, and I love it. It smokes great and doesn't look too shabby either. That was about 80 or 90 bucks, but you can get a 28" Single Hose for about 60 bucks. One thing to keep in mind is the hookahforum discount. There's a thread somewhere around that lists the discount codes.Good luck!
