Luke69
I am going to France and hope to try some shisha over there. I know this might be a little obscure, but i'm trying. What do you guys know about the hookah scene over there? And it would be great if you could point to some bars in the Bayonne and Paris area. Is there any really good french or european brands i could find? Any input would be great.

[LB]
QUOTE (shisha fan @ Feb 28 2007, 06:39 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>someone on this forum said tabac le prince is a good brand. i haven`t seen hookah bars in paris, but maybe i just didn`t look hard enough. good luck finding one.yea i think that was me. Tabac le prince is a great brand but i dunno if they have hookah bars, I just buy it at the TABAC shops in 150 gram packs. They always keep a couple right above the cigarettes. If i were you id stock up on a couple of those while your there, its a pretty good shisha, but itlll cost you if you dont look in the right place. I go to paris every year and I always go down to the moroccan/ arab areas to find good shisha apparell and maasel. As for hookah bars, you can find them by the hundreds in paris, they are usually all over the place. The chic ones wont be open until later at night. If you wanna find some 'haut de gamme' hookah bars walk around the central island. its full of nightclubs and bars and stuff, as well as hookah bars. I wish I could give tell you where I go, but i only know the route from my apartment.

maxy3546
Hookah scene in europe is massive, esp. in france/ germany. lots of turkish and north african immigrants with a very traditional culturally proud attitude. you should have absolutely no problems finding a hookah cafe in any city. Purdue
Sorry I can't be more specific or helpful but...I went to Paris over the Christmas and found a nice little hookah bar. The staff was amazing and very understanding. I had ended up going with a few newly met friends, and it turns out that there was one bad apple in the group. Well, he knocked over the hookah and refused to take blame. Basically what happened is that I had to figure out what to do and ended up paying for the hookah myself. The owner was very patient with the whole ordeal. After the bad apple left, he even sat down and enjoyed a bowl with us!I've got no idea what this place was called, but it was between the Pere LaChaise rail station and the Rue Saint-Maur rail station, and a little towards Hotel de Belfort.Anyways, good luck in Paris!
