Southwest Missouri

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, hate to post a topic like this, but i have searched and searched, and im just wondering if there is anyone from the southwest Missouri area that knows of any local hookah bars/lounges. There are two in Springfield but they are more restaraunt than hookah bar. Also i'm kinda wondering if there are enough people if we all want to get a session going together one weekend, or one night. I hate smoking alone lol sad.gif

A new hookah lounge is set to open in Joplin on June 1st.  I believe its called 12:51 Hookah Lounge and its located on 7th street between Range Line and Duquesne Road.

I driven through there with sheesha before! Sorry. That doesn't help. I loved MO, though, much nicer than OK and all their toll roads.

Haha yeah, I love living in Missouri but it is really difficult to find supplies in Joplin.  I only know of one tobacco store that even caries shisha and all they carry is pharaohs.  If I want to buy shisha "locally" I have to drive to Springfield which is 60 miles away.  :-( Edited by crf

I read the article in the Joplin Globe the other day about the new Hookah lounge here in Joplin and thought to myself "hey that's really awesome that Joplin has a hookah lounge now!" I'm a total night owl and I thought the fact they're open til 3 a.m. is really cool too (though it didn't say which nights it's open that late). One thing I really liked about living in L.A. was you could get practically anything you wanted 24 hours a day, whether it was getting Thai food at 3 a.m. or going shopping for home stereos systems at 2 a.m., you could do it. And that's one thing Joplin needs more of is nightlife, so this is a great start. It'd be nice if they had broadband access too for laptops too.

So has anytone been to check it out yet? I wonder when the more crowded/social times are? They didn't give a phone number for the place in the article.

They are open till 3 on Fridays and Saturdays, open till 12 all other days of the week. They do have Wi-Fi for your laptop, a Nintendo Wii that you can play for free, a PSP with many games and Internet access that you can rent for 7 dollars an hour, soft drinks, snacks, and 3 flat screen tv's to watch satellite TV on. It's a very clean place, everything is new, nice couches, carpet flooring which i thought wasn't a great idea but it's an indoor/outdoor style carpet so it holds up ok. I went last friday and let me tell you, well worth the drive from Mt. Vernon for me. The owners are from my hometome of Riverside, and are very nice, service is prompt, and its a family orientated business. I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area, you owe it to yourself to check it out. They use Pharoahs tobbacco and i think 3 kings quick lites, its not bad at all. All different types of hookahs, egyptians, bohemians, mods, and maybe some syrians.

I will be there tonight, it's my birthday so i'm gonna be there with quite a few friends, if you make it out i'll be the one in the camoflauge flat-billed hat.
