Johnny_D
Golden. (why are they called Golden when they are covered in silver?)Can't beat them. 3-Kings style coals are ok. Just not great. and i find when i break them in 1/2's they don't lastanywhere near as long as the Japanese style coals.JD
Apollo
the only coals i have ever used are the golden ones, are they really not that great, i have never experianced anything else, so would it be wise to switch to three kings?

EvansLight
3k FTW!! Goldens are harder to light, take longer to fully burn through, and IMO actually leave a weird taste. I love my 3K only thing i use 90% of the time

SAEPhoenix
3 Kings all the way! Tried a couple other types- crappy taste comes through; 3k=safe bet
web250
Very very similar to me. But I give 3K a slight edge
mushrat
3 kings, but the 40mm not the 33mm. The 33mm SUCK. The 40's burn better.Though I've recently gotten a chance to try a new quicklight, the name escapes me, ill see if i can find out, that I'd say is better than even the 3 kings.Still prefer finger coals over all and Nours given the choice. hbomb
I think the 3k tasted much worse than the golden rolls, but maybe it was just a bad batch. 33mm and I'm sure they're actual 3k.
DownZero
3Kings all the way. Thats all I buy for it's convenience and quality. I don't mind Golden but I won't turn my back on the 3 Kings.
