wyteboy
OK...I have just read through almsot every lengthy review thread on here and compiled a list of what various people think to be the "BEST" flavors of the premium brands. Those who know me know that I am a newbie still waiting for my first hookah to come (and already buying a cheap, but better 2nd one to replace it with), also only owning Nakhla strawberry, vanilla and alwaha apricot, coconut and 5-star. I DO plan on movin on up in the world to the premium stuff sometime later and what to get the absolute best variety. So this is where all you guys come in. I will post the list I have compiled and you will help me narrow it down! Keep in mind I do not like tobacco taste at all and mainly smoke this stuff for the wonderful tastes. Also in terms of apple flavors I don't really like licorice flavors that much...Also not a huge fan of grapes in general... Here goes: Fumari - Watermelon Al Fakher (regular): apple, cola, cappucino, coconut, apricot Al Fakher (GS): strawberry, GS bahraini and eskhanrandi apple HookahHookah: Pineapple, Melon, apple Romman: Peach, strawberry, sweet melon?, coconut, raspberry Al-waha: 5-star mix, pineapple, (hoping my apricot is really good also) So...that is the list I have?? like I said $$ is very tight so it may be a bit til I can buy this stuff but I don't want to buy strawberry from 2 different brands, or is it worth it? Anything I am GRAVELY missing or any "double up" flavors from brands that you guys think one is far superior to the others?? If anyone has samples or stuff I could buy off them cheaper instead of paying expensive shipping that would be very cool, lol... Thanks for all input, I want ALL of you experts in on this one so I can become an expert

King Mo
you may not be a fan of grape, but grape fakher is something really special. In terms of flavour, it is quite possibly the strongest sweetest tasting fruity flavour I have ever had. it really does hit you. It's like a grapy blackurranty juice. In the uk we have a drink called Ribena, and a drink called Vimto. Grape fakher tastes like you are smoking a hybrid of those drinks.
King Mo
social smoke do a ten pack of 50g fakhers at a great price. I recommend it as a good starting point. they also do 50g packs of golden fakher which is also nice if you want a safer way to buy.
wyteboy
definitely did not know that, thanks king mo!!

Mathazar
AF: Apple & Apricot SUCK!!! It doesn't taste like Apple at all, just sweet with a bit of tartness. And the Apricot doesn't taste like Apricot at all, it tastes like perfume. You'll know when/if you smoke it. GS: Bahraini Apple tastes like licorice. It tastes milder than Double Apple, but it's licorice all the way with this one. I didn't like it at all, because it didn't have a strong enough licorice taste for me. Double Apple does GS: I didn't like Eskandarani Apple because it didn't have a strong enough Apple flavor to me. Hookah-Hookah Apple: The problem with this flavor is that sometimes it's loaded with flavor and other times it's completely flavorless. I don't know why H-H sends out flavorless batches, but sometimes it happens. I think, if you like Lime, then you'll be MUCH happier with H-H Margarita than the Apple. I don't know, maybe you'll like the Apple and maybe you won't. Try it and see. I always order it with all my Hookah-Hookah orders simply because sometimes I like a subtle Apple flavor rather than none at all. Avoid Romman Coconut, it'll make you PUKE!!! Get Al-Fakher Coconut instead, it's MUCH better. I hear the Al-Waha 5-Star Mix is pretty good. Well, at least you got the brands down, now you just need to work on those flavors
wyteboy
wow thanks math for your thoughts!!! someone else posted (was it king mo?) that they were absolutely in love with AF regular apple.... Interesting to get ppl's points of view. ppl agree on the assessment at least of which AF and GS AF apple flavors taste like licorice and which ones do not? math, why does AF apricot suck? which brand apricot do you like best? Highpockets
The GS Eskandarani is wonderful. One of my favorites, not licoricey at all. 5 star is solid. I just bought AF Cherry, which I think is very good. Haven't had the Amir, so I cannot comment as to that.
wyteboy
awesome thanks highpockets! have you had the bahraini? do you know if it is licoricey at all? for some reason I have been thinking BLACK licorice when ppl are saying licorice flavor is that correct?
Highpockets
I haven't had the Bahraini but I believe that others have described it as having a licorice ting to it. Black licorice is accurate.
Mathazar
Yes, anytime someone speaks of licorice flavor, they're talking about black licorice. And, yes, take my word for it. If you don't like licorice, you won't like GS Bahraini Apple. I don't even know why they call it apple, when it tastes like licorice. I suppose next to Hookah-Hookah Apple, the closest you're going to get to Green Sour Apple is Eskandarani Apple. It wasn't HORRIBLE, it just wasn't what I expected, which would be Green Granny Smith Sour Apples. That's what it's supposed to taste like, but it just didn't work for me. I've only tasted one brand of Apricot, and that was Al-Fakher. And just trust me, it BLOWS!!! You won't taste Apricot at all. It has a chemical flavor, which I really can't describe. It's perfumy. That's really the only way I can describe it.

ZooJohnnyZETA
[quote name='King Mo']you may not be a fan of grape, but grape fakher is something really special. Al-Fakher Grape is deffinately one of my favorite flavors and somthing that any hookah smoker must try at least once...and will probably find his or her self going back to smoke it again and again. You really must try it One other Al-Fakher flavor I would like to talk about is Strawberry. Ive only had one more realistic tasting Strawberry flavor (that being Al-Amir) but Al-Fakher's is really a unique creation. To get an idea of what Al-Fakher's Strawberry tastes like just close your eyes and invision strawberry cheesecake. Now imagine eating that strawberry cheesecake. You realise its the best tasting strawberry cheesecake you've ever had....Mmmmm!!! Mmmm!! Mmm! It tastes so good you cant believe it's real! Now open your eyes. The hookah's hose is in your hand and your exhaling smoke... you look around but theres no cheesecake anywhere to be found. And yet, you can still taste it. And thats when you realise it... theres Al-Fakher Strawberry in your bowl.
wyteboy
johhny, I assume that is the GOLDEN line Strawberry you are talking about?
ZooJohnnyZETA
Actually I am refering to the normal Al-Fakher Strawberry. To me it tastes like the best strawberry cheesecake I have ever had. Unfortunately I havnt tried the Golden Seal Strawberry yet, but I plan to within the next few months. I cant imagine how they could top the normal Al-Fakher Strawberry, but I'm sure to find out. I have had the Al-Fakher Al-Quema Strawberry though. As a word of advice I would say to stay away from the entire line of Al-Quema flavors if you don't care for the taste of tobacco. They tend to taste like a half and half combination of the flavor and a very high quality pipe tobacco. If you like the flavor of tobacco the fruit/tobacco flavors are balanced really well, but if not then stay away from Al-Fakher Al-Quema.
wyteboy
thanks johnny! anyone else on here tried both the regular and GS AF Strawberry? provide some insight on the difference? Also King Mo I think it is who loves the AF Apple....do you mean the regular AF apple or do you mean Eskharandi apple?
Mathazar
He means the regular AF Apple......He's in LOVE with the stuff. Frankly, I don't even think it tastes like Apple. It's as I said, sweet with a bit of tartness to it. It's not bad smoking, it just doesn't taste like Apple to me. And the problem with AF Strawberry is exactly because it tastes like cheesecake. If I wanted a piece of cheesecake, I'd go to the Cheesecake Factory. When I first ordered AF Strawberry, I had HUGE expectations of it being the best strawberry I ever tasted. Well, my bubble burst pretty quickly when I opened the jar to smell cheesecake, and even further when I lit-up a bowl to find that it tasted like cheesecake. Quite frankly, it was disgusting. wyteboy, just be forwarned that if you do get AF Apple & Strawberry, in my honest opinion, they taste nothing like the flavor you're out to capture. Perhaps AF GS Eskandarani Apple comes close to the real thing, but I really didn't like it.
