wyteboy
since you're both on right now....any difference in like reynolds foil or the special "hookah" foil squares made for hookahs? if i get the hookah on ebay i can also get 100 hookah foil squares for $5...is it worth it at all or should I just use my reynolds stuff? ZooJohnnyZETA
Well, I don't think I can help you much with this one. I have never tried the precut squares specially made for hookah smoking. To me they always seemed like a big marketing gimmic and a waste of money. If your going to use foil you can use pretty much any normal aluminum foil you have sitting around your kitchen as long as its not the kind with a plastic coating on one side. And you'd know if it was as it would say it was coated on the box. In any case those little foil packs seem like a waste of money to me so I never tried them. Highpockets
I think they are essentially the same. The hookah foil is pretty thin, maybe what you'd get if you bought your foil at the dollar store, which is probably superior for smoking purposes, but maybe not so much for other cooking? I'm not sure. Either way I'm with Johnny here, it does seem like a ripoff, it doesn't take much time to rip off a piece of foil from the roll, so the convenience factor is very small. Mathazar
I've used the pre-cut hookah foil and I used to buy it in bulk because it was so damn convenient over cutting-off pieces of Reynold's Wrap. And though it was convenient, those guys are 100% correct, it's a BIG rip-off. You could get a HUGE roll of Reynold's Wrap for a couple bucks, as compared to that tiny pre-cut stuff for 5 bucks. It's laughable how much of a rip-off it is I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing at the whole concept of paying SO much money for so little foil. You see, you're not really paying for the foil, you're paying for the convenience. And if you smoke as much as I do, that $5 pack is going to turn into 5 ($5) packs. And you'll go thru it in no time at all. Save your money, and use the (Regular) Reynold's Wrap. Just keep a pair of scissors near your hookah, and cut off bowl-sized squares of foil. Or you could pre-cut them, but I would find that to be a ROYAL pain in the butt.

RuarriP
Hey Math, Are the precut squares any thicker than regular foil? I like to use the heavy-duty BBQ foil 'cause it's thicker and seems to burn less of the foil and more of the tobacco.
Mathazar
As I recall, the pre-cut foil was a bit thinner than (regular) Reynold's Wrap. wyteboy, I haven't had any problems whatsoever with my Sultan Hookah
