NERV
never really heard of eithe rof em, the bets known ones areound here are golden quicklites, 3 kings quicklights, japanese 'quick' light, lemon wood, olive wood, and nour finger coals. i assume you want quicklights in which case i would reccomend 3 kings or golden, 3 kings dont burn as hot or long but are safer, the golden coals taste better, burn hot, and last over an hour, but there is a chance it could explode, or send sparks flyingin some random direction, so unless ou can fabricate some safety measures or dont mind the occasional burn to yourself or your property, go with 3 kings
Mathazar
3 kings adds a lot of charcoal flavor to your smoke. If you're going to get quick-lights, then go on over to: www.Hookah-Shisha.com and buy they're 3pack of Golden Coals. Each box has 100 coals, and there's 3 boxes for around $36. Best deal on the web
entrailsgalore
I prefferre natural woods such as Nour. If you go with quick lights I recomend Golden Coals.
piperdown
I've not had the charcoal flavor issues that some have described here with the 3 kings coals. The so-called japanese quick lites, however, just tasted nasty. Lately I've been getting the 40mm 3 kings, and either breaking them in half or quarters prior to lighting. They break fairly cleanly, unlike some of the other similar coals which seem to disintegrate sometimes when broken.
chr1z
nour coal or cococha coal best coal for shisha.
Puff
I prefer japanese and natural olive or lemon wood. Both are quick lighting for me. I put on a glove, grab a coal with the tongs, hit it with the blow torch and in 6 seconds it is ready!
Mathazar
Nour Coals are also excellent. "blow torch" I've got one of those and it's Fantastic. On the high setting, I give it about 20 seconds and the whole coal is REDHOT
cypress
I just use the good ole gas stove with the top part of a steamer pot. Works great and I can transport it and dont have to worry about explosion or droping a coal while lighting.

Stew
3 Kings have always been kind to me. They light well with a bic, impart no charcoal taste that I've noticed, and they are available locally so it's convenient for me. The way I use 'em is I start with one in the center for about 10 minutes then use the tongs to spit it in half. If the smoke starts to get a little weak, I break them further, lift off the screen, toss the tobacco, and put the screen and coals back on.
