GordonMac
I was at hookahcompany.com and there is a glass screen claiming that you will never have to use foil or a metal screen again and you get the best smoke... is this true? Is it worth a shot?

Whodat1004
Thats just a misconception. Anybody who knows how to take off or add coals can figure out heat management.
cafesaden
QUOTE (Whodat1004 @ Mar 5 2007, 05:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Thats just a misconception. Anybody who knows how to take off or add coals can figure out heat management.while it might be somewhat of a misconception, there are also downsides of a glass screen, depending on how it is made. For instance, the glass screen that came with the glass bowl I bought (made by smiley) is extremely hard to use. The one's on hookahcompany look much easier because there is only 1 hole. Mine has 3 pretty good sized holes and it makes it damn hard for me to keep bits of coal shooting into my tobacco. But, if you don't move your hookah around at all, and have the patients, they can be worth it. Just start of slow with less coal and slowly add little pieces.

You know like the lamp flying off the end-table and being pulled into one of the holes!

Purdue
Just be careful about how much you spend on them. Until tonight, I had one for about a month. The thing just cracked in half, maybe because of the heat. Not sure why it cracked, but I never dropped it. On the brighter side, the Smiley bowl is still going strong, just need another glass screen for the top
mushrat
I have a 1 hole smiley (boy that sounded wrong) and I find I use HALF the coal I use with a screen. I found the only tricky thing is clearing the ash off to add more coal. And I'm getting the hang of that.
