Cold493
Ok I think I found a Hookah I like for a good deal on eBay, they claim it is a Mya Hookah and it looks like it could be but it is somewhat different than the pictures on the Mya website, they claim that Mya just hasnt updated their website with new models. I was wondering if anyone could verify that this is in fact a Mya Hookah. Thanks a bunch. Mathazar
It's hard to tell. I didn't know Mya made acrylic hookahs. Why don't you call them up and ask them if it's one of theirs. It looks like one of those cheap Chinese-made hookahs. No offense to the Chinese in this forum, it's just that the Chinese don't make very good hookahs, in my experience. I have a Sultan, and though it works just fine, it does have the earmarks of a cheaply-made hookah. I think the inner tubing on mine is copper, and copper heated to a certain degree will release a toxic gas. Though, I don't think that a couple pieces of charcoal are going to get it that hot. If you want an EXCELLENT hookah for just a few dollar more, go to: www.SaharaSmoke.com . They've got some AWESOME deals!
Misterwight
I registered an account just to post this, so consider this my good deed of the day. I can confirm with near certainty that it's a Mya model. I bought one *just* like it from www.1percent.com, with the only difference being the color of the base. It's a cute little hookah, and it smokes pretty well, especially considering the size. The only trouble with it is the sealing mechanism. They use a finned piece of silicone instead of a rubber grommet to make the airtight seal between the shaft and the base, and the silicone has a tendency to slip when you put it in. It gets very irritating very quickly, and it's hard to find replacements for it. I sold my 17" Mya to a friend and bought a 22" model with a screw on base. If I were you, I would just opt for that, assuming it's within your budget. You'll thank yourself later, because the larger version comes with nicer everything - the tongs, hose and vase are all significantly improved. The vase itself is almost twice the size in volume, and that makes for smoother smoke in my opinion.
