DrShisha
Hey. I have some Al Amir Cherry and Blackberry but im having some difficulty in getting the flavour out. They seem pretty mild and weak. Are they like this or is it my doing. The Orange i have is a beaut, no problems with that.

LuxOR541
Hey there Doc.I have both the Al Amir Cherry and Blackberry and Enjoy them both. Do you mind sharing your setup? I do find that Al Amir takes a different technique than other brands I smoke.I prefer to load it loosely, just sprinkled in, and just barely below the rim of the bowl. As for holes I make them a little larger for al amir. I use a bamboo skewer to poke holes into the foil, just enough to get good airflow through the hose. I use two 3 kings quicklights, one each on opposing sides of the bowl. I regulate the amount of heat by how much of the coal is on the bowl, and how much overhangs the edge. I like to always have some coal overhanging the rim of the bowl because I feel that it heats the entire bowl better, not just gets the top crispy.I pretty much leave the coals in one spot until it starts to die. then I light two more and place them in the unused quadrants of the bowl. The key for me to do it this way is to leave space between the shisha and the foil. I get plenty of huge clouds this way and the flavor lasts for a good hour and a half-ish.Good luck let me know if that works for ya.Nick
LuxOR541
forgot to add, Al Amir to me seems really sensitive to overheating, but takes more hat to get going. By sensitive I mean that if you make the mistake and burn it, it is really hard to get good flavor from the rest of the bowl. Anyone else notice this? So if you're adding too much heat or making too much contact with the foil from the start, it might be killing the flavor. sometimes I like to use 3 half coals spaced around the rim, and move them closer to the center as the session goes on. just experiment and have fun. azcoyote
After smoking Naklah or some such, it does taste bland to me at too. I like to mix My Al Amir with Naklah, and it smoothes it out considerably. I did some Naklah banana with Al Amir Blackberry and it was very nice, with an extra kick.
