This Place Slows Down Way Too Fast

Recommended Posts

seems like it has a lot of activity for a few hours then just dies for a while.

it may also be that i am used to another forum that i go on every day. that place gets about 10 pages of new threads each and every day, 30K members.

i love this forum. It's really sad, now i'm on it like 10 hours a day wink.gif weither i'm at work or at home, i HAVE to make sure i'm caught up on everything wink.gif

as for it being semi small, i get a chance to make friends. i enjoy having "personal" conversations with people instead of "HEY NOOB... USE THE SEARCH BUTTON......"

You guys answer every question even though it's been asked a 100,000 times. i like that.

Thats the difference between going to Ohio State University and a small quaint private college.

I do like it like this, small is nice. At least we know who most of the people on here are.

nah... were almost at 3K members and i like it... i know when certain ppl are gunna be on, when the most posts come up and its small and homely, i know the people here and their talents and skills to a hookah related topic, everyones realy nice and i think at 30K members the forum would be lost on angry mods dealing with trying to manage hundreds of new threads everyday, non hookah people trying to fit in flaming each other like 12 year olds on a Counter Strike Forum.

and how would you start a thread and expect to come back in a few hours later, and see your thread at the top, you open it and its the people you expect with answeres you can use. THATS hookahforum.com and THATS the way it should stay.

but thats just my 2 cents... huzzah hookaforum

hookahforum, ...its an addiction.....

in fact its so addictive, its should be in Mushy's illegal substances list

LAWL
hahah i must agree that hookahforum is addicting, but small is good in the forum's case. everybody is friendly its a nice atmosphere to post in. and most of the people on here i can trust their advice.

I quite agree...I actually have the chance to talk to people here...theres lots of other forums in which its pretty much 5 big dogs and about 10 thousand little people trying to get points in. Here its alot different...everyone gets a say without getting ignored. I rather like our small size.

What other forums have members trying to organize meetups? None that I know of... happy.gif

the forum i was referring too does. it is a car related forum and once a year at the biggest ford car show is the local meetup. the site is run by a local guy in Orange County, CA and the majority of the site visitors are from CA.

People come from all over the US and Canada for that once a year meetup.

As far as having 30k members that is how many are registered but not how many are online at one time. There are about 100 people online at one time and i now everyone of them. The number of people does not indicate if you will have a "personal" relationship with the forum users. The forum can have 5 members or 500, as long as everyone is online everyday you will get to know each and everyone of them.

I like that this forum is smaller. It's nice that people actually get a chance to read what you say, compared to huge forums where all the topics just blow by. It also limits the number of repeat topics.
