Seeking Fruity, Happy Flavors

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, it's been a while since I posted here, but I need some advice as I am on the cusp of purchasing some new tobacco. Basically, I am looking for flavors that are really obvious, preferably fruity. Here's the tobacco I was thinking of getting:

Layalina: Grape, Mint, Lemon
Al Fakher: Cola (my favorite flavor of all time)

I'm not really a fan of Tangiers (sorry, man) and the brands I tend to like are AF, AA, and Layalina. I would really like a strong lemon that is extremely recognizable as lemon, and I'm in need of a nice, natural-tasting mint that is strong but not headache-inducing (AA mint is my current favorite). Anyone have any advice?

Setup: QT w/ 3 kings coals.

Thanks for the help.

Layalina has a really good lemon; it was my favorite flavor of theirs. Al Fakher has a strong mint, maybe too strong by itself though (not headache inducing though!); I prefer Tangiers mint to it, but it was still quite good. Your best bet will be to pick up 50g packs of the flavors from the various brands; it's really hit and miss on flavors between brands.

AF isn't really a natural mint, it struck me as being a more candy-like mint. I tried to use it to clear my hookah of the AW double apple nausea-inducing anise flavor and it didn't touch it, instead it gave it a sweet minty undertone because the anise was so powerful sad.gif But yeah, if I'd had it with a clean hookah I'd be ALL over it smile.gif Edited by Allia22

Thanks for the tips. I have tried AF mint before and not been a big fan of it because I also think that it tastes kinda synthetic, if you know what I mean. I generally don't buy AW tobacco because I feel like a very small price jump (to Layalina) gets you a lot better quality of smoke, but maybe I will try AF lemon and, I vaguely remember liking the lemon in the past. As for the pina colada, I will probably stay away from that because I am looking for extremely recognizable flavors- and I think that even with the best pina colada flavor people won't be able to put their finger on what it is easily.

That's good to know. I might try the peach, because it seems like peach is a pretty easy flavor to reproduce (for any brand) and I haven't had peach in a while.. Oddly enough I have tried the raspberry and even though I really liked it, I found it to taste very... chocolatey for some reason.

I think I'm going to get these small packs.

Layalina: Lemon, Mint, Peach, Orange, Pineapple
Al Amir: Peach (for comparison)
Al Waha: Lemon (for comparison)

+ 250g AF cola, since I know I love it.

Should be about $30 from hookah company. Edited by Glottis

I forgot to mention, it would be best if the stuff is (a) available in a small pack and (B) found on www.hookahcompany.com . They have the best prices and fastest shipping to where I am. Edited by Glottis

Try romman's lemon.
I would say that AF's lemon is a bit like a lemon meringe, Havana's (also excellent by the way,) is like a lemon lime with a bit of vanilla, and romman lemon is like pure fresh lemon. The romman flavors can be hit or miss, but man their lemon is spot on.

Also I have to recommend havana eskindarani apple, and havana banana-honey for great, sweet fruity flavors. All three of these are some of the most pleasant smokes I have had.
