John Stuart Mill
I think the difficulty inherent to Tangiers may be somewhat psychosomatic. I received my latest order with two 250g bags of the stuff, and have yet to experience any problems. I simply use less heat, which by the way is suggests on the back of the bag. It seems to me that too many people shy away from Tangiers because forum members elevate it to the point of being practically unsmokable, at least unsmokable by all but seasoned hookah smokers. I have only smoked hookah for 2 months. Now the buzz most assuredly isn’t exaggerated.

If i take away the coals, the flavor is nice but the smoke is thin. Can't figure out the right settings. I might try it once again if I can't get someone to trade with me. JoeLipinski
My first 250g bag of tangiers was spent on me getting used to it. That got my body and my mind ready for future batches of tangiers. By body I mean my lungs and throat (it tickled my throat in the beginning) and by my mind, I mean know how to set it up. Now, I practically only smoke tangiers btw. Edited March 11, 2007 by JoeLipinski
John Stuart Mill
I use a Tangiers phunnel and live in Colorado. The climate may have something to do with it. I’ve heard it said that Tangiers works better in areas with less humidity. That would make sense seeing as he packs in the dessert.
Zerodynamic
let it sit out and adjust to your house for a couple of hours.. the humidity shock should go away.
