jerjer72
I am having a terrible day.. I think I am almost ready to give up hookah.. Let me explain how horribly wrong things can go.. First of all I tried romman double apple..it wasn't good imo.. I thought it was gross then I switched to the fruit cocktail.. now that was fine for a bit then became too sweet.. So I decided to stop smoking cuz I felt a bit nauseaus and I was removing the coals.. That is when all hell broke lose.. One coal falls on paper towel. Paper towel starts on fire. Coal rolls on blanket. That starts on fire and makes a nice black hole. Another coal falls off onto a surround sound speaker. I remove that in time and hit the paper towel and blanket. I take the coals to the sink.. Walk back into room. Why is that shirt on the ground having smoke come out of it.. Ahhhh its on fire! Pick it up.. run to sink soak it under the tap. It looks like freddy mauled me now. There are big gash holes in it. Anyway I hate finger coals now for this reason. They stink. They ash way too much. They have a weird taste. And they are just plain too messy and easy to start fires because they don't hold onto the tongs that well. They seem to slip off. I am sad. Not only did my shisha taste crappy but I almost started my whole room on fire. It was a nice kiss shirt that my ex girlfriend bought me at a fair once. I feel like the worst hookah smoker in the world. I must seem pathetic..And now my room stinks.. I feel light headed and dizzy yet I am sitting in my room still with the smell.. hopefully that is fine. But yeah this was a shitty day.. camelflage
Seriously though, this is the exact reason im such an advocate of using the combo bowls when you have natural coals. i cant count the number of times ive gone to pick up a coal off the stove and its slipped out of the tongs and onto the stove or counter. luckily the counter only a couple times and i can move it quick enough to not do any damage, but i NEVER carry lit natural coals outside of the kitchen. until they are sealed up in the bowl. jerjer72
Btw the whole mom freakin out thing..she seems fine with it but doesn't really know what it is. Maybe I will talk to her about it. All I said was no its not for drugs and it is way harmless compared to cigarettes cuz they have chemicals added..I will just be more secretive.. mushrat
Or try a foil chimney or a regular wind cover. Both will keep your coals from rolling off your bowl.

Both will keep your coals from rolling off your bowl.Sounds like a great idea. I will definatly have to try the foil chiminey. As for the wind cover, I thought that scince I never tried not using one I would leave it off during that time.. and then fires broke out so I don't think I will leave the windcover off anymore. Allia22
You'll develop coal handling skills, it just takes time I should take pics of all the things I've dropped/shattered coals on. And they were 3K, which are supposed to be easier to handle. OH if you're going to pick up a 3K coal that has a good layer of ash on it, give it a tiny little test squeeze with your tongs first. If it's going to shatter no matter what you do, it might as well be while it's sitting on your bowl, eh?
