Washable Hoses

Recommended Posts

before you go buying a MYA hosing and running water through it after every smoke, do a search on this forum for MYA hose and rust. There have been a couple of threads in the past few weeks regarding people's mya "washable" hoses rusting.

The only true washable hoses are either ones you make yourself from tubing bought at a hardware store, or one of the plastic ones found at hookah-shisha.

What has annoyed me most about this is that a certain major mya supplier, who posts
in the forum when he has new products, has failed to see this issue and/or respond to it.

Where (apart from on commerical websites) has it been confirmed that mya are in fact washable?

Given the post where someone cut open a mya i could not see what was different to any other style of hose.

It has miffed me off midly as i have purchased mya hoses specifically for their 'washablility'

Just my 2p.

forget the mya man! go to homedepot or lowes and buy clear vinyl tubing! I got 20 feet for 3 dollars! cut it into 2 ten foot hoses and they work better then regular hoses I think. Easy to wash and easy to tell when they are dirty. Trust me, once you open up a hose you have been using, you will want to switch to these kind of hoses! my 20 foot hose fits perfect into a grommet and perfect into the hookah, no modification. try it out !

I do this at home when I smoke alone...no handle nothing, so friggen' easy to wash out! Always have a fresh clean hose!

I have smileys 15 dollar hookah, and after the hose rusted up from washing (woops) I cut it all up, discarded the hose, and kept the wooden pieces on both ends. With (1/4 inch?) vinyl tubing those wooden parts slipped right on with a perfect seal, and it works like a charm. The vinyl hose (20 feet for like 5 bucks) is even FDA approved as non-toxic so my fears of inhaling vinyl were put to rest. I just wish it were a little bit more flexible.
