Stargate Natural Finger Coals

Recommended Posts

I've been using 3 Kings (40 mm) for some time now. I use Tangier's phunnul bowl, and I don't really like how I go really quickly through a box of 40 mm. They don't burn as long as I would like and they produce a lot of powder when lighting them. So I was taking a look in the review section and I found Yash's review of the Stargate Natural Finger Coals. From what he was saying, they are really good coals, lost a long time, clean, and odor-less.

I have a few questions about these coal.

How big does one break up the fingers when smoking?
Does anyone have any pics with these coals in action?
Because they larger (and I assume heavier), is there more of a worry about burning the top layer of tobacco?
Other than Yash, can anyone give me their thoughts on these coals?

Just doing some research before I stock up and do a one time 6kg purchase of these coals. Like how Socialsmoke has a deal on that, but sad mnhookah doesn't sad.gif

yeah these coals are off the hook, I can post pics a bit later. Absolutely amazing coals. They are completely uniform and each coal burns exactly the same. no odor, no smell, no taste imparted onto tobacco. I bought a 5 bag deal from ... social smoke or something i cant remember lol. and its been aboutt 4-5 months and I am just now on my last bag. and all together it was like 35 shipped. I bought a torch from home depot for 14 bucks and an extra bottle for 3 bucks. just sit there and torch them for about 4-5 minutes and ur ready to go.

ok i found some pics on my comp, but don't put this many coals on your bowl! we had to leave and decided to burn the bowl real quick.

sorry these pics arent the greatest but these coals really are amazing. last about 45-1 hr.

only thing about these (like all natural coals) is that they take more maintanence. you have to ash them every 10 minutes or so, but the flavor/experience is worth it IMO.

you won't be dissapointed buy a bag.

Did you break the coals up before or after you got it going? How would you break up that big of a piece if it was red hot?

lol, don't try and break it up before hand, well actually sometimes i do. i just grab it with my ape-like fists and snap it in half, really isn't hard at all. but if its red hot, just drop it like on your bbq or in a coal bucket from a little ways up and usually it breaks into 2-3 nice sized pieces or just jab it with the tongs. really easy to break up unlike quicklites.
