I thought the whole purpose of having non-HK mods and open discussions was so that we wouldn't have a forum biased towards one vendor or another?
I mean I completely appreciate HK hosting this forum, and I keep that in mind when ordering, but this seems like a cheap shot. Like not letting me post a link to Social Smoke or H-S or whoever is going to drive me to order from HK. In fact, I'd assume pretty much the opposite would happen.

i have NEVER had to pay to be on a forum and NEVER had a forum tell me what sites i can and cannot talk about or post links to.

i know there is a cost in running a forum but the people who set this up should have known that before launching the site. If they cant run it or dont have the money to hell pass it on to someone else who can (ill take it).

people shop at many different hookah sites and want to post direct links or images showing products they just purchased or are thinking about purchasing. I think not allow us to do that is complete bs.

OK. I wasn't going to put my head above the parapit... but here goes.

I, personally, would urge restraint from the forum & posters at this time.
Comments like "This sucks, boo that, complete bs, ect ect" are probably not going to ease
whatever tension is currently in existence.

Please remember that this forum, and the no.1 Meeting sites for hookah & shisha fans
around the world is hosted for free. No one has to pay or contribute.

This is not the time for everyone to throw opinion in the wind. I am sure the admin and owners read
this forum and This is only likely to add fuel the flame.

Can we let things calm down and pass over until we all start throwing opinions?

JD i have no problem for showing restraint.

BUT

i do have a problem with bringing in the FREE card into play. Every forum i have ever been on is free and does not restrict your abilities on what you can link (as long as it is appropriate).

Also another problem i have is the favoritism that seems to be in play. Why block a few sites and not all? I was going to buy a hookah from HK but if this really was done to try and take business away from the other sites then i will NEVER buy from HK.

This site is and has been great but what they did is down right pitiful and there is no sugar coating it.

I agree, and if you think about it, this is no different than all the smoking bans going around a bunch of cities now.

They're trying to take away our freedom of choice.

Choosing where you buy your hookah and shisha from is no different than choosing whether or not you want to smoke, whether it be cigarettes, cigars, pipes, or shisha.

Nobody knows what exactly is going on right now, so why dont you let the MODS and the ADMINS handle this?!?!

What you do through e-mail or chat is your own business but dont instigate anymore about this on the boards until the facts are known by the mods and or if an explanation is given.

i was not insinuating anything just replying to a couple points that JD made. 1. about the site being free and 2 about what the admins did. And it is obvious what is going on, there is no reason to act like you dont or that it was a 'mistake'. The admin(s) blocked linking to certain sites. You cannot do that by 'accident'.

Why would they be angry at me? im only stating the obvious and saying what they did is wrong. If they want to get mad at me or ban me or take posts away then go ahead. It will only solidify how childish the Admins are acting (and blocking linking to your competition is shildish). It does not matter that this forum is run or hosted by HK.com you should be allowed to post links to any hookah sites you want. Playstation 2 forum does not stop you from posting links to xbox.com.

I never said anything to anyone on chat or email, but i think that this is something that should be known by ALL members. Even some mods did not know about this until i said something. And no one is instigating ANYTHING just stating the facts, and incase you missed the facts here is a recap.
1. Some hookah sites have been blocked for direct linking. (south smoke, social smoke, hookah-shisha, hookah company)
2. A ADMIN went and changed the board settings to BLOCK linking to these sites. This is something you have to TYPE and was NOT a mistake.

ASUS: i am not complaining if you notice my very first post i was just asking. but if someone makes a comment about my posts then i will go ahead and respond. Im in the same boat as you i think it sucks but oh well it is not my forum i just post in it. But i wont buy anything from hookahkings.com because of it.
