transient
Is there supposed to be a "spring" of sorts inside the stem shaft to act as a filter? I bought a hookah a few days ago, was cleaning it out and found this thing inside the stem, which is weird beause the water acts as a filter anyways...but, this thing is kinda sketchy. I don't want it if I don't need it, and DEFINITELY don't want it if it's NOT supposed to be there. Thanks, sorry if it's been discussed (I searched )
hmpitags2006
Not that I have ever seen, where did you get your hookah? Any sort of pics would be nice as well.
transient
Here's a crappy camera picture, but you get the idea ...The spring is just over an inch long. It's actually a couple of springs wound up in eachother.Bought it from Tinderbox... Edited March 18, 2007 by transient

Bondal929
I had the SAME EXACT thing! I bought mine in china town in NYC. It was a tiny little copper like spring. I took it out, and it smoked exactly the same.
