newsman
I'm thinking about doing a documentary about the hookah culture in America. Would anyone in the forum be interested in participating? Right now it's in the really early phase of conception and pre-production, so I welcome any ideas, thoughts, suggestions, questions, etc. And, of course, as I mentioned before, hookah enthusiasts who would be interested in being on camera are most welcome. Let me know what you think.
jordanneff
Sure thing. Sounds like a pretty great idea.Actually about 2 weeks ago I was on a local channel smoking hookah talking about the pending smoking ban that they're trying to put into order around here. But yeah, I'll help out for sure. Any ideas on distribution or how it's going to be seen after it's done?

I don't see a mainstream commercial channel like Discovery or TLC going for a topic like this (more's the pity). I would also probably try to get it onto film festival circuit. I'll be there with a small camera crew shooting the festival. I'm sure that between beer and bratwurst we could find time to get together.

newsman
Mmmmm... beer. However, as delightful as this yeasty tangent is, I'm going to try to redirect the thread back to the idea of a documentary about hookah culture. Anybody interested in seeing one and/or participating in same? Please let me know what you think, good bad or indifferent. Your input is important.Thanks. Right now, I'm still working on the concept. At its heart, it's about the burgeoning hookah culture in America (and maybe beyond), but I certainly want to look at everything surrounding it too.
