runride
you all say that the foil should not come in direct contact with any tobacco/ foil at all.... yet i find it close to impossible to do that. also, it seemslike i would have to put an incredibly small amount of tobacco in the bowl in order to have the two separate. in the end, i always end up hearing a little burn when i put on the coals and its all stuck to the foil after a session. whats up with that? is that right? wyteboy
I don't know the answer to this except to say I have also heard never let the maassel get in touch with the foil...I would love some input from more of the experts on here!

cypress
Yes, you might need a bigger bowl. But you are correct you dont want it to touch or else the ma'assel will burn and stick to the foil. I try leaving an 1/8" to a 1/4" of space between the two. Slight burning or sticking isn't so bad but when the whole bowl that you packed is sticking to the foil that is when you probably put too much or have too many coals.
