after some thought i have decided to purchase a better bowl than the ones that came with the hookah
should i go with a smiley pyrex bowl or a tangiers funnel bowl?

From personal experience and what i've heard from most people, the phunnels are a little bit easier to manage heat. I know that the phunnel can blast some flavor and I like the fact that it doesn't drip down the stem. I'd search a day or two back, there was a discussion about this same thing

yeah i suppose it kinda is a big deal, i only have about $30 to spend for a few months on my hookah so i want to get a good bowl

I have both, and prefer the smileys bowl but both are great. With the phunnel you need more coal, both smoke great. I love looking at the smoke swirl around in the smileys bowl and seeing the shisha burn. I get great flavor out of the smileys bowl because of the glass. I used to be indecisive as well, but now im not sure

phunnel is great but takes up a lot of tobacco, even the small one can burn through a tub pretty quickly. Although it is nice to have when smoking with company.

I don't really use *that* much with my small phunnel. Actually, not to much, if any, more than my regular bowl

hottness = smileys
functionability = phunnel
design = same, phunnel holds the juices, and a very inovated design, while smileys design uses glass, which uses less coals, and better flavor.
smoke quality = same
smoke length = phunnel
smoke flavor = phunnel

honestly, if you don't already have a phunnel, go for that. its an awesome experiene.

the smileys i got mainly because of the way it looks, yeah it smokes great, probably twice as good as a regular head. but the phunnels innovated design really makes agood smoke, like 3-4 times that of a regular head. get the glass later on

the funnel bowl is completly different than a conventional egyptian or a smiley bowl so i don;t really know why you are askin this question. cafesaden pretty much sumed it up for you
