Easiest Mya To Clean

Recommended Posts

Which Mya hookah is the easiest to clean? I have a gold one where the center stem is very small aluminum tubing inside and its too small for any real cleaning, plus the parts that screw into eachother dont exactly all lock up to prevent any gaps leaving residue build up. I like Mya's I just want one I can use on a daily basis with a quick cleaning.

Normal size is what I am thinking. But acrylic's are easy to clean, I know this because my gold one originally had the acrylic base, but the stem is difficult. I guess I am wondering which stems are easier to clean then these aluminum cored ones. Do they make a single piece center tube model?

by a nice brush. a lot of companies sell them. scrub it clean and take your hookah apart after you use it. if the brush doesn't fit take some scissors and make it smaller

Do you have a Mya now? Or you want just want to buy one?

If you have a Mya now its a brass stem. They are all brass stems, just chromed to give it a nice look.

since you want a full size hookah any of them will do. I just would not buy a screw on vase. Stick with the grommet type, they will outlast the screw together.

Also just because the stem is narrow does not mean it can't smoke as well as a wide stem. It is all about your vase chamber and how much is there for smoke.

I have a Mya acrylic that I put a glass base onto. The stem is made of several parts, it is this stem:

Problem is this stem is made of many parts, its not just 1 thing. The center tube is about 3-4MM wide aluminum tubing basically covered with other gold chrome plated larger tubes to make it look good. I am not going to ruin my brush that I use for my other hookahs so that I can clean this. Plus that hookah is now pretty much a display item.

What I am looking for is which mya has a single piece easy to clean stem. Edited by Scarecrow

You need to buy a small hookah then if you dont want it to come apart. Ever Mya stem I have looked at or seen comes apart in different places. This allows the buyer to customize exactly how they want their hookahs to look.

And like I said before, that stem is brass and it is just plated. If its not brass it will rust completely through the stem. Which in turn means you dont have a real Mya.

See my review about the QT, the only thing I didn't like, was cleaning it...to me it seemed like a pain in the ass, and the porous stem really held onto smells and was hard to clean....imo

I agree....the QT is definatly not easy to clean. The porous stem actually wears down my brushes rather quickly. My SS egyptian stem has no ridges and can be perfectly cleaned every time.

I find the QT (S-Class) very difficult to clean thoroughly -- the inside of the stem has a very rough surface and will wear down your brushes if you try to use them.

As for the Bohemian stem, I have the same one -- if you can find a brush tiny enough to fit through that awfully narrow tube, it's not that hard to clean. Most of the metal in that stem is definitely not brass though. The inner tubing seems to be aluminum, and I don't think the long shell that fits over it is brass either -- it actually feels more like plastic, though it's probably some kind of cheap metal.

Mine has become a display item as well sleep.gif
