Hookah Recommendation Help (im New)

well. i've been doing hookah for a good two years now and tired of paying at a bar. so i plan on getting one. i travel back and forth from my college city and my hometown so transportation will be a factor in my first hookah purchase. i'm thinking about buying a hookah from www.hookah-shisha.com because of they're cool $55 bonus package that comes with the hookah. i just don't know what is a good one for my taste. i smoke alot with friends too. so i'm debating between a single or double hose hookah. i've heard many people mentioning about the mya's. and i hear the diva and bambino. i dunno. what is the most popular hookah on www.hookah-shisha.com? i plan on spending up to $75.

most of the hookahs on hookah-shisha are good. you would be happy with the diva if you went with that but its all about personal preference

A good place to start is by going through the product reviews and vendor reviews in the forum. I really like h-s.com, and if you're interested in a mya what about the QT? I've smoked a few of them at bars and I was really pleased.

I just have a 1 hose and smoke with friends often -- as long as there's only 2 or 3 of us passing a single hose isn't a problem.

Hey man, I just made my first purchase from H-S. If you have a credit card, you should have your order within 4 days(check their shipping page, they have a chart on delivery times). How many people do you usually smoke with? Just remember, if you get an egyptian, you will need to buy some rubber stoppers(they're cheap, .50 a piece I think. I'm going to say that a 2 hose will NOT be enough if you have friends. I ordered a 4 hose hookah, but forgot to get the rubber stoppers. I hope I get a couple in my package, haha. 26 inch Sphinx 2 hose hookah- $ 78.95
Great hookah. At 26 inches, you get 2 hoses. Everyone has a mya hookah, get something original that looks nice. I would suggest spending $5 extra and getting the genie base for whatever hookah you buy. Well worth it.


22 inch Nile 3 hose hookah- $ 74.95
Another nice hookah. 4 inches smaller,but with 3 hoses. Very nice as well, Remember, Genie Base!


22 inch Nile 2 hose Hookah- $66.95
Here's a nice hookah. Same as Above, but nearly $10 cheaper, and 2 hose. For the money of an adapter, and another Cobra hose, I would suggest getting the 3 hose, and paying $2 to get 4 stoppers.


18 inch Scarab 2 hose hookah- $ 57.95
The hoses are amazing! Silver/white and green striped. It's a bit smaller, at 18 inches Looks great.


Now as I mentioned, spending $5 more for a genie base is worth it. They are larger and allow for more smoke volume. You get 2 free 50g boxes of Romman, and a TON of accessories!Even a free carrying case!! It's an Awesome Value. It's debatable. If you have a 2 or 3 hose or even 4 and are smoking alone, you need to plug up the other hoses. ( That is, taking them off and putting the stoppers in where the grommet would go, I think). Even if there are other people smoking, those who aren't taking a hit should plug the end of the mouthip with their thumb so those who are taking a hit can get a solid and strong hit. I can't wait to get my 4 hose.

I recommend a single hose egyptian for your first hookah. They are easy to clean and usually less than a 100 bucks. If you decide later to get something bigger, or with more hoses, that is fine..

Conversely, ifyou get a two hose, you almost have to get a small single like a mya bambino or one of smiley's $15-30dollar hookahs. I would imaging a two hose to be irritatin when smoking alone, just for the extra care while smoking and cleaning when done.

I still need toget me an egyptian. Not that i didn't smoke out of then when I started, but a friend had one, so we used his and I got mine all based on pretty. But honestly the egytian always seemed to smoke just a little better than mine, and it wasn't prep, cause i prepped all 3.

Alright, as I tend to make posts that are way too long I'll keep this short and sweet. Basically almost any hookah is easily transportable so long as you have a carrying bag. I have a 30 inch 3 hoser and I can carry the bag on my back like it's nothing and it easily fits in my trunk. But bigger hookahs are more expensive usually anyway, and if you're only planning on spending $75 then a smaller one would be ideal. Hookah-Shisha is a good site, thats where I got mine from (be sure to search the forums for the discount code and save yourself a nice 15% off your order). Also, check out social smoke, they have good prices on ther small and medium sized hookahs.

yeah i'm not gonna do the two hose deal. gotta continue the tradition of passing the pipe. but yeah i thinking i'm going for the bambino. i'm sure it hits just as good as the diva. and i know the diva looks damn sexy but i'm more for budget. gotta get it at H-S because they got that velvet hose special now. i'm just in a debate what color i should get now. any opinions yall?

The quality of the Social Smoke hookahs, in particular the stems, FAR SURPASSES the quality of those at Hookah Shisha. I bought an Egyptian 2 hoser at HS, and ended up selling the stem to another member so he could dismantle it as an experiment. I then promptly ordered a replacement stem from SS, as I was so pleased with the quality of the first one I bought from them. Again, don't get hung up on freebies, gimmicks (like the point system), etc. Just buy a good machine and forget about the rest of that nonesense.

ps-- get the bambino! i know this guy says the social smoke is bettter, but it cant be that much better than a mya.
mya's have been the standard for YEARS, and the durability CANT be beat. very sturdy hookah's. the bambino

You know, I'm not sure. Their stuff looks pretty nice, but I've never bought any hookahs from them. Just a few bowls awhile back. Maybe someone else can chime in here and let us know. I'd also look at the above recommendation of the Khalil Mamoun hookah. They are supposed to be great. I actually have the 33" version they sell at HC on the way, so we shall see how she smokes.

I agree. Social Smoke products are of superior quality for the price. HS is cool and all, but if I had a choice I would choose the SS hookah anyday. (even if it were a little more)

The Orion is a bit taller (good thing). Other than that, they seem to be the same. I personally like hookahs to be a little taller, but either one of these small ones would probably be fine, and portable too.
