26" Comet

I'm getting this, there are alot of mixed reviews. I am pretty sure i have read that it is hard to get the water levels right and what not. How far up the stem should the water be, let me know. Also tell me about your experiences with this particular hookah. Edited by sabsz

I own a red one of these, definately very cool. The carb is a bit wierd sometimes, and getting the base air tight is sometimes tricky, but after a while its wasy easy to do. I use a Ultimate combo bowl from H-S, and it works great. The water level on this thing is really easy to do, the base is like a cylander with a ball in the middle, you want the water to come about a centimeter below the top of the ball.

This hookah looks great in red! Edited by KillZedKill

the cobra hose probably isnt washable. He was referring to the purge valve (blow-off) when he said carb.

The carb is the piece on the opposite side of the hose, with the little beebee in it. The cobra hose is really cool, in the pictures, it looks like the side peices are white, when actually, they are a clear acrylic, really sweet! i was very surprised when i got it, looks alot better in person then online, not just the hose but the whole thing!
P.s. You want to put it on a flat surface, something other then carpet, because it has a slight wobble.

Thanks alot for the help, I'm scared of the coal falling on the carpet anyways so even now i dont smoke on the carpet, but i wont have that problem with the combo bowl, and how slight is this wobble. I would expect it because the base IS hand blown glass or whatever. But its not a big deal is it?

werd, im thinking i have this old bedside table that has four legs its short anyways, i mean if i sat down on the floor it would below my chest. The legs on this table are all unscrewable so im thinking i should take them off and use the table top for the hookah. and beat people with the legs tongue.gif

the wobble isnt bad at all, its barely noticable, but something flat like a chess board helps. about your coals, the tray on this thing is nice and big, no worries there. biggrin.gif

  • 6 years later...

Hi... first of all, yeahh I am a complete newbie to the forum, sorry for that (skipped intro and all that) I am desperate here... please help!.

I bought a comet from: (ask me by PM for the vendors name/web) I am not sure if it's against the rules to name vendors.

The hookah has all the common problems related to rotators, but mine does not produce vapor, just a little, and sometimes I get one good hit, and the it's back to suck again.

One hose base, does not match the others, like if the solder of the Hookah made a mistake or something like that, it just doesn't not look like the rest.

The Hookah came unsanitary dirty, like it was dumped in black dust and the bathed in mud <--- no kidding, that dirty... there was a special for the comets (bents and scratches) but I bought the "brand new one" instead, just to make sure it works, go figure!..lol  I wonder if I got the discounted one  <_<

I am broke, and used the savings to set up Hookah service on a nightclub and went a bought this comet hooka, and now I have a Hookah that barely works.

Could it be the water level?.... I am setting it just like all other Hookas, 1/2 above the stem, not too high, not too low. I saw the drawing here that shows the water level indicator, but If I do that, then the stem would be like 3 inches above, I don't think it will work. (Will try it tonight, just in case)

Any one might have a remote (anything) to help me with this problem... I will take a video, if needed.

PLEASE HELP!.

We don't have a rule against naming vendors, but we do have a list of banned vendors that we request you not mention: http://www.hookahforum.com/topic/26167-banned-vendor-list/

Without a bowl or hose attached, seal the top bowl port of the hookah with the palm of your hand and draw from the hoseport with your mouth. Are you able to pull in any air or is it airtight?
