ctsmo
damn i just cut open that cheap crappy hose and it is rusted beyond belief. i was wondering i only used that hose for around 20 minutes while passing it around. has this harmed me or no because i only did it once with that hose? im really worried that the rust particles could be stuck in my lungs or something like that. thanks

ctsmo
i was goin to get a washable hose then i heard people say those eventually rust, so im just going to go to lowes tomorrow and get vinyl tubing so ill be sure it never rusts. so i need 3/8 and to get the head and end pieces on from my old hose, i just have to put the tubing's ends in hot water and just put the ends and heads from my old hose on this vinyl one? ASUSEAN1
yea its 1/2 OD (outside diameter), 3/8 ID (inside diameter). you might need some eletric tape Edited April 25, 2007 by ASUSEAN1
hmpitags2006
Just take the end pieces with you and try them like that, cause it depends on what kind of hose you have
zoddi
if you want to experiment with unrusting those hoses, fill it with vinegar. cap both ends and let it sit for a few hours. drain and rinse with water thoroughly.i've never tried this and imagine it wouldn't work well since it's leak out easily and quickly. but if it does, it'd give you some more life. excrementory
I think mine is rusty aswell. It´s orange on the inside. I´ve used it maybe 30-40 times. Should I change the hose to a plastic one until I buy a mya acrylic? Also, a little piece of my stem has broken loose and is uncovering a copperish one. Dangerous? Its at the very top of the downtube.I´ve experienced som salty particles that I´ve inhaled at the first smoke when the hookah has been standing for a while, is it just leftovers from the smoke? The pieces you are inhaling are probably the rust from your hose. Either try cleaning it out really good or make one with the plastic tubing

excrementory
I´ve ripped my hose apart now anyway. As I expected, it has rusted. Not as badly as the OP´s seems to have been, but still rusty. I will try to build a new one instead.
